The Yankees had no intention of using him as a utility guy. He had a ridiculously low BABIP in Chicago with his continued solid IsoPatience. Kenny Williams was dumb enough to sell low

i doubt the yankees thought he'd be this good

I can't disagree. His limitation is his cerebellum. He's just not very bright.

He may never have a better BA/OBP/OPS. And that's OK. Just get on base and run!

Mean while, I'll disregard his bad jumps as long as his speed can compensate.

Which brings me back to my initial post. He's flawed, but there are still some teams who won't hold that type of flaw against him as much as they probably should. If they can do something to take advantage of that poor evaluation, then they should. I'm not saying they should trade him, return be damned. Just get while the getting can be good.

Someone please explain to me why we couldn't get a backup catcher at the trading deadline? The Pirates picked up Chris Snyder, who is 100 times better than Cash. Ells should be batting 9th until he starts to hit.

There's he goes again, jumping on the first pitch near the strikezone. He's like Nomar minus the power and Tourrettes.

Bill Hall. More home runs than Jd Drew!
JD has never hit his groove this season. I am starting to wonder if his back problem isn't hurting his offense. A bad back robbed Mattingly of his power and offensive stature.

That's become so commonplace we can probably start referring to it as "Pulling a Beckett".

Could very well be.

They got him for the future as he is not ready to catch at the ML level right now.

Yeah, I know. Just trying to poke some fun at the Salty acquisition I'm not too high on.

he's having his second career year in a row

I like being pleasantly surprised when it comes to guys who are not in the 3-4-5 roles in the order. Those guys must produce. The other guys need to be consistent, which is why I like Swish so much. He's been consistent ever since he came to NY, and he shouldnt be leaving any time soon
