By the way, i just saw Carlos Pena lay one down trying to beat the shift. As discussed before, Papi should try that every so often to keep opposing defenses honest and beat the goddamned shift.

Dice-K run support strikes again. Maybe if we wrote Matsuzaka on the back of every pitcher's uni, we'd score 11 runs every game.

Hey guys, I just finally got a chance to watch the game from last night and was wonder if you all saw the drop ball soft line drive by Lowell to Aybar. I am pretty sure he did that on purpose.

Do you guys think that was a dick move?

Anyways, great come back and I hope they keep it up.

Nope

I've seen that happen a few time where they actually got 2 outs doing that , its a smart move and sometime you'll catch runners leaning the wrong way and turn 2

you just have to be a good actor

You know what, I tried being civil, but you won't quit.

f*** off, you idiot.

Yes, you tried to keep it civil. This was your first post in this game thread about a topic from a closed gamethread:

Last night's thread is locked' date=' and there was some serious [b']knuckle dragging[/b] going on that I'd like to respond to....

Calling people "knuckle draggers" is always a good civil approach.

And here's your second post in the thread after I asked you to let it go, because we disagreed:

And they are wrong' date=' and you are one of them. Deal with it.[/quote']

..and this is civil and nonconfrontational?

And here is the post by me which set you off to tell me to "f*** off" and call me an "idiot".

Yes' date=' a disturbing trend. It's hard to recognize greatness on Gamecast.[/quote']

It's snarky, yes, but is it as personally insulting as calling someone a "knuckle-dragger"? You are a thin-skinned hypocrite. You can always dish but you suck at taking it.

infield fly rule dosent apply to a liner' date=' only a pop up[/quote']I think the rule has something to do with intentionally deceiving the runner. It's a judgment call by the ump.

I've seen it before where infielders have purposely dropped the ball to turn 2 , seen it quite a few times actually.

Roberto Alomar used to do that.

EDIT: actually I guess there is a rule for that, for intentional drop .... but I've never seen an ump call it tough

The fielder can let the ball bounce first and turn a double play. That is completely legal. It happens a lot on bunts that are popped up. The fielder will let the ball bounce in an attempt to turn two. It is not legal to intentionally drop a ball that has his the fielders glove. Gosh, I am glad that you don't manage the Red Sox.
