With all this being said, that was a great call by the ump. I just watched it again and he clearly drops that ball on purpose. You can see him push the ball right to the ground in front of him.

The fielder can let the ball bounce first and turn a double play. That is completely legal. It happens a lot on bunts that are popped up. The fielder will let the ball bounce in an attempt to turn two. It is not legal to intentionally drop a ball that has his the fielders glove. Gosh' date=' [b']I am glad that you don't manage the Red Sox[/b].

why? cause I wouldn't bat Ortiz 3rd and wouldn't pinch hit him?

No, because you don't know the rules of the game. That is a much more fundamental disqualification than a judgment call regarding the lineup.;)

It stands for shut the f*** up. God' date=' don't you communicate at all using messenger?[/quote']

Nope. I do not know a lot of the lingo you all use. Sorry!

And for the STFU, I think we were having a good conversation. There is no Mojo being lost.

Yes' date=' you tried to keep it civil. This was your first post in this game thread about a topic from a closed gamethread...[/quote']

Yes, you are such a victim. Maybe, next time someone presents an observation backed up by a statistical trend, you can just disagree instead of insulting the argument as "without merit". Maybe that will set things off on the right foot.

I second this. Jacko was running his mouth earlier in the day, and went unpunished.

It's dismissive' date=' which is insulting, and it set the tone.[/quote']That's no excuse for a personal attack. In the original gamethread, I said that although you are a smart guy that I thought you were chasing shadows on this argument. I don't think that was personally insulting or personally dismissive. I am allowed to disagree with you, even if I am wrong, but you always seem to demand submission to your point of view. You are a smart guy. No one denies that. Your intellect is not the problem.
