I was working last night and guess what, I am working again tonight. I have tomorrow night off just in case you are wondering, seeing as you seem to be stalking me. It's called a good job. Love the fact that you are obsessed with my not being part of the game thread though.

Back to the game. Good to see the offense put up a fight. Burnett is quickly pitching himself into the #4 spot in the playoff rotation. Who knows, I might rather have Nova go.

Stalking? Hahahaha not even close. Yeah, we called you out because when things don't go the Yankees way your a ghost. For example when the Yankees were getting gangbanged first game 10-1 you weren't here. The next game which was during the day when we again raped the pinstripes you went ghost again. Funny how game 3 right when papelbon blows the save you appear and enter troll mode. It's ok you'll never admit it. Just know that everyone knows your a troll.

Pettitte is still not where he needs to be. I think he needs to put as the 3 with CC and Hughes as 1-2.

Pettitte has had one really good start, and one really bad start since coming off the DL. I think his start tomorrow should go a long way in determining if he should be slotted in to pitch game two.

it takes a special breed to go on a red sox fan site as a yankees fan when they get a lead late in the game and rub it in the faces of red sox fans. to take it a step further and then cry victim when red sox fans call you on it is... special

Tell me about it. What a hypocrite.

they clinched. congrats y228

Haha, no need to congratulate me, but I appreciate it nonetheless. This is the best game they've played in awhile, so it's fitting that it's the one that puts them into the postseason. CC was really good tonight, which is nice to see after some shaky outings.

I'm very curious as to what they're going to do with CC the rest of the year, because I don't think he rests until next Wednesday. I'm guessing he throws a few innings on Saturday. Pettitte's start is also now pushed back till the weekend. Between Pettitte, Burnett, and CC (probably), this coming weekend will be important for the Yankees. I doubt they push for the division, so it'll just be about giving the regulars some rest, and some of the pitchers hopefully rounding into form.

Haha, you guys are hilarious. I've been here now for 4 yes and have been on the site thru thick and thin. Yet you two douchebags take a small sample size while I was working (read, yes I have a job which might be a foreign concept to you two) to label me a fair-weather fan. It's hilarious. Those who know me know this isn't the case. To those I respect, the sox put up a good fight. To you two, enjoy a long winter full of "what could have been" but obviously wasn't. The yanks are in the playoffs, your team isn't. Chew on that.

I'm sick of Theo's wildly inconsistent results with building a bullpen. We have had a bottom 3 bullpen 3 times in his 8 year tenure. The Yanks and the Angels have not been in the bottom 3 once during that period. I am sick of the excuses for him wasting tens of millions on the likes of Lugo, Renteria, and Matsuzaka. The investments in Lackey and Beckett are not looking too good either. It's time for him to put up or get rid of him. He's been living off his press clippings, but his performance in light of the resources at his disposal is nothing to brag about.

Cue the Theo Fan club who will demand my head on a stick.

Hey, at least the Sox led the Yankees after game number one lol...

I demand that Theo be fired immediately. His s***** bullpen construction and lack of WS titles on a yearly basis has made me sick of his shenanigans!

And don't any Theo apologists make any excuses like players spending twice as time on the DL for this team than Yankees and Rays players combined, or the unexpected decline of many members of the rotation/bullpen, or the fact that dumbass Theo wasn't willing to pay anything of value for a volatile reliever who may end up being the next Gagne so we can all bitch about that too!

Get rid of him now!

Cry me a river bitch. I could careless if you were here 100 years. That's alright seeing the Yankees play like s*** looks like you won't be getting number 28 this year. No worries I'm going to be a pain in the ass when it comes to playoff time. Thanks for telling me again that we're not going to make it. Are we making the llayoffs next year or no? You tend to make prdictions a bit early.

Can't I vent just a bit after being eliminated to conclude a very frustrating season without being mocked by you?

Theo will always be something of a folk hero for bringing home two championships, but he should not get a free ride and he should be judged by the results on the field, and he is not good at building bullpens. He has a record that has nothing to do with injuries, and he is not the only GM that is subject to volatile fluctuations when building a bullpen. They are all faced with that variable. Yet, the Yankees have a better record. Their bullpens are almost always in the middle of the pack or better. Somehow, they have managed the volatility better than the Sox.

The Yankees have had a better bullpen mostly because they have had Mariano. When you have a guy who historically, could give you 1-2 innings of shutdown relief when you need him and almost every game in the playoffs, you are gonna have a good pen.

theo should have known half the team was going to go on the dl. they pay him to predict stuff like that. dan duquette never would have let this happen

i agree, getting rid of theo epstein is our number one priority. he's clearly the reason we haven't won the world series the last 3 years

Combined WS titles of the "very succesful teams that have not had bottom three bullpens during Epstein's tenure": Zero.

I'm not even going to go on discussing the year-to-year volatility of bullpens because it would be futile. Theo needs to be fired for this ********. I want his head.

Also, for the record, you were all for extending Beckett.

Posted
theo should be fired for putting together one of the worst offenses in baseball and expecting us to win with pitching and defense. maybe if we had resigned bay and stuck with lowell at third base we would have done better than a team ops of .792
Posted
Well having your two best offensive players going down for the count in Pedroia and Youkilis certainly didn't help, Theo tried bringing Bay back last off season for more offense but he rejected the offer so they gave that money to Lackey instead. Not sure how much they have coming off the books but maybe you'll get lucky and have Crawford on your team next year.

Also' date=' for the record, you were all for extending Beckett.[/quote']...and for the record if I couldn't build a bullpen, I should be fired.

For the record, I never said that Theo should be fired. You said that. You put words in people's mouths with your sarcastic style of humor and then argue with them over the words that you put in their mouth. I am frustrated by the results this season, especially by the bullpen. Should I be happy about it? Injuries can't be helped, but bullpens can be improved throughout the season. I do believe in accountability. One of Theo's best qualities is that he doesn't shrink from responsibility. If asked, I am almost certain that he would express his displeasure regarding some of his decisions.

...and this proves that a good bullpen is irrelevant to winning? or what does it prove?

Why am i not allowed to want Theo fired? I am tired of his of his poor bullpen-building skills and his shenanigans! That is my personal opinion, and i have not put words in anybody's mouths.

That being said, Theo needs to be fired for his incompetence and i am currently petitioning around campus for said goal. So far i have three signatures, a pack of gum, and two Bud Lights, so i am doing well in the road to reaching my objective , which is to get rid of that s*****-bullpen building slacker!

You are very funny. Send around a petition to get rid of the incompetent third base coach while you are at it. I am tired of his shenanigans. Also, change the petition about Theo. Don't petition to have him fired. Petition to have him given a stern warning. I think you are being too harsh on him
