i was just thinking that i wish tito would take out a starter after 3 innings if they had already allowed 8 baserunners and 4 runs and then lead off the 4th with a single to the #9 hitter. but he would wait until they've given up 7+ runs

Yanks up 7-4 after 7 innings. It would not have been possible if Girardi left Vasquez in to give up 7 runs.

According to the NY Post, Vazquez averaged 87.68 mph on the 16 fastballs that he threw yesterday. Vazquez cannot explain his dip in velocity.

This is exactly what happened at the beginning of the yr. Also, it looks like the Yankees might be removing him from the rotation. Ivan Nova was called up and will start tomorrow night. And Moseley is staying in the rotation as well.

I am wondering if we do what we did that last time with Javy. Skip him, put him in the pen for a game and get him back into the rotation. Worked great the last time, hopefully it works this time around.

Solid numbers and continuing to improve significantly since May. He's always had very solid stuff, but his approach has been a problem. In previous seasons, he has pitched more to contact than going for the strikeout. Now, he's learning to continue to pitch to contact at times, but he is starting to learn how to put away hitters when needed. He isnt a finished product, but he should be ready for the bigs at this point. He very well could be our 5th starter next season

Game delayed, probably going to be called, IMO. CC is gonna win his 17th and his ERA is down to 3.02. He's got 8 more starts left to the season, very good chance he wins 20, and probably more in the 22 range.

Nice to take the lead. Not nice to see the Jays teeing off on Nova. I agree that this isnt his best team to face. He pitches to contact against a team that has serious power. Not good

Jacko-- do you know why it is that Yes doesn't use a pitch zone to show pitch locations? When I lived in New York, it surprised me that they didn't show where the pitches were hitting. I watched a good 20-30 games, and I never saw it once, and I was constantly wanting to know where the pitches were going.

Much better inning. 2 seamer biting down, not afraid to go up with the 4 seamer. Much better than the first inning.

Nova got porked in the previous inning. Grounder to SS, throw to 1b Tex picked, but the ump said he was off the bag. Replays show us he was out. Then Bautista crushed one. Should be tied.
