5-4 on the road trip. No complaints there. Congrats on getting back to .500. Let's see if you can stay there.

I'll take 5-4 from the Yankees and Rays all year long.

5-4 after spending 2/3 of the trip on the West Coast is really good. If you are rooting for the yanks and the rays to win 55% of their west coast road trips, then you are rooting for the wrong thing.

We go home for a few. 14-7 and have only played 6 home games. And last yr, NY was the best home team in baseball. Uh oh.

SO the question now is, what to expect from Cano? Right now, his line is .407/.444/.791/.1.235

I know he isnt keeping that up, although he has hit as high as .342 over an entire season. My biggest question is whether this power surge continues. Remember, he has played only 6 games at home and he has 8 homers. He's hit a number of wall ball doubles as well, which would be homers in NY. Regardless, he is out of his mind good right now. On defense, he looks smooth and seems to make all the plays now. And at the plate, he is maturing into a dominant offensive force. He is on pace for nearly 50 walks and 64HRs. The homers wont keep up, but I expect the walks to pick up even more as his hot streak continues.

Regardless, this is the Robby Cano we have been waiting to see. The season when he finally figures it all out and instead of putting up solid lines with above average power, he reaches his potential. I see 30+ homers here and a maturation into the middle of the order that makes Tex to ARod to Cano seem like there is no dropoff.

Including the playoffs, the Yankees are 44-10 at home since the All-Star Break last year. Time to go on another roll.

There is no reason to believe that his power won't improve. He has the easiest swing I've seen since Griffey. His power surge is nothing to be surprised about. Although he won't hit 60, I fully expect him to hit 30-35 homers this season and hit above .320. He is finally learning patience, and wait until Arod and Tex start hitting, and the pitchers have to pitch with him on base.

I know it's April, but I'm glad the Pedroia/Cano debate is over.

Unfortunately it might be time to think about replacing Vazquez with Mitre' date=' and this is coming from a big Vazquez supporter.[/quote']Vasquez only sucks every 5th game. I'll trade you Beltre for him. You can have suck every day.

Hahaha, unfortunately you're stuck with him. Enjoy.

There has to be a point where the Yankees start to take Swisher's struggles at NYS seriously, especially when Swisher readily admits that it's something he's thinking about.

He just killed the Yankees right there, mainly because he's hitting second. With Johnson in the lineup, at home, he should be dropped down in the order.

You can only expect so many two out hits in a row, against a pitcher as good as Danks. For the second night in a row, Swisher absolutely kills them in a big spot. I miss the guy who would just strikeout in those spots, instead of hitting into double plays.

Very close to getting Danks out of this game. Need something from the middle of the order.

EDIT: The ABs from Tex continue to improve.

They got a run, but A-Rod had a chance to make it much more. Couple great pitches to hit in that AB, including the last one.

EDIT: Offense just doesn't look good today, when you consider all the pitches they've missed.

Sergio looks good, and he seems like a different pitcher as he's further removed from surgery. Besides the money factor, I think the Yankees really did feel that he was a better bet moving forward than Gaudin. If it comes to it, I wouldn't be upset if he had to be slotted into the rotation.

Very risky move by Joe, because there is a definite possibility that Ozzie pinch hits.

EDIT: Well he didn't pinch hit, but that was just a great piece of hitting by Pierzynski.

I think one of the reasons why people hate Pierzsinski is cause he beats them.

Well, rough day for the Yankees. Vazquez continues to struggle, Granderson probably headed to the DL (per Girardi), and the Yankees lose a game that they led with seven outs to go. They really need Park back to sure up that bullpen, and Boone Logan is going to be making a push to move ahead of Marte on the depth chart.

EDIT: Granderson to the DL. Melancon up.

Vazquez just keeps getting worse and worse and it sounds like Granderson's going to be out about a month.
...and Damon continues to play every day.
