What's up with our SS situation?

I know Gonzo filled nice defensive gap that we had for last half of the season, but $6MM just for the defense?? If we're willing to pick up that option, can we try to sign Jack Wilson about similar amount of money we're going to pay Gonzo? JWil is well known for his glove, and his BA will eventually go up a bit with better line-up in Boston. What do you guys think??
