Oh boy. The Phillies showed up tonight. Now Girardi, foolishly, makes a pitching change, which gives the Phillies a chance to warm someone up to pitch the 8th inning.

You can sure get Ibanez out.

He's hitting .222 in the WS WITH the homer.

What the f*** are you talking about?

Ballgame.

I could see Utley winning series MVP even if the Phillies don't win it.

I would be shocked. That has only happened once, and it was only because the losing team (statistically) dominated the series. Unless the Phillies were to win game six by a ton of runs, and Utley was to hit a couple more homers, I don't see him winning it (unless, of course, the Phillies win the series).

How in the world is that a strike tonight?

Anyway, I have to give Girardi credit for holding back Matsui, even with all the pinch hitting opportunities.

Cano tried his best not to produce there...even failed at that...

He has a pathological need to swing at the first pitch and pitches out of the strike zone when he has RBI opportunities.

The Yanks have to hold it to three here. Hypothetically, if they do, here's the situation the Yankees would be faced with in the 9th.

Down three runs, with Posada, Matsui, and Jeter coming up. The question would become, can they get A-Rod up. Three of the five guys would need to reach. All five are good hitters, so it's not entirely unrealistic. I don't like their chances, but we'll see.

Hughes looks a bit better thus far. He had a very nice sequence against Feliz, and Ruiz only got a cheap hit.

EDIT: But you can tell he just is not the same pitcher. So many breaking balls.

I wouldn't mind the Yankees getting 2 runs in the 9th and losing by 1 run. I'd win my Yankee bet where I am getting 1 1/2 runs and live to bet another day.

what would game six be: Pedro vs. Petitte?

Yup.

Pettite on 3 days' rest is a grim outlook for Yankee fans.

Then again, Pedro will probably not be so lucky next time.

... or maybe after facing the Yankees the last time' date=' he has them sized up.[/quote']

Glad to see rainbows and unicorns from you, Clint. It's refreshing.
