Why are we mentioning Bailey again?

As far as i'm concerned, Kotsay and Lowrie were depth for 1b/3b.

If you don't like that, then i honestly have nothing else to say to you.

Clearly trying to avoid a shitstorm.

Good keep your promise this time. You add nothing but incoherent nasty remarks anyway. If you are satisfied with Kotsay and Lowrie as sufficient depth for Lowell or some other injury' date=' fine. I don't[/quote']

If you posted your 'opinions' without the constant baiting and jabbing' date=' then this would have merit. You bring all the 'bullying' upon yourself, chief.[/quote']

Take a vote. If the members want me out of here' date=' I'll go post with JayHawk Bill. lol![/quote']

K, tally one vote for you to leave :harhar:

I vote that a700 stays.

Props to any New Yorker that has the sack to be a Sox fan.

Plus, he is an "older guy" (like myself) and is able to add perspective to an otherwise "young" board.

You're seriously voting?

The vote from Dutchy was a joke.

And this isn't Survivor to be voting people off the board.

I realize that this is not a legit vote. I'm just voicing support for another member.

Everybody's staying' date=' but everyone also needs to chill the f*** out.[/quote']

I was excited I might be able to see this smiley for the first time: :banned:

But I guess it's not really fair to ban people just so you can use it.

normally I look for every opportunity to use this...

a700 and myself have had our differences of opinions. I give him a little jab now and then, and he returns the gesture all in good fun. He is one for the dramatics on occasion, but that's what makes him interesting.

DR is DR. Always good for conversation, always good for a little controversy.

I hope this little tiff wouldn't lead to anyone leaving the board.

I'm still a newbie. Much of this message board stuff is still new territory to me.

"Having said that", I enjoy reading and absorbing the posts of all members. I don't agree with some opinions but I respect anyone willing to put their ideas out there.

Some times it's difficult to understand what is serious and what is just sarcasm. While debate helps make this community strong and interesting, personal attacks and the resulting snark fests it promotes serves no purpose. It's fun initially but ultimately serves no purpose other than to demean others and bore the s*** out of people who come here to share ideas.

I encourage the free exchange of ideas. I hope we can all achieve this without hurtful attacks on others.

With the possible exception of semi-literate text style posters.

Anyways, Doiji, let us leave the baiters aside and continue baseball discussion.

I'm thinking the Sox should wait a couple more days and see how the market finishes shaping up.

How some of the almost-contending teams do in the following days might make a couple more players available and improve the Sox's chances of landing a more versatile and well-rounded (albeit probably more expensive) option.

The problem is if you're waiting for a list of teams that will be out of contentuion in 3 weeks, that's pretty much the same list as is out there right now.

I don't see any reason to wait on picking up an option to play BEHIND Lowell. If Mikey goes down, or God forbid is done, then you look for the more expensive options that could REPLACE Lowell. But picking up a guy who could at least fake it at the position in the short term in case Lowell goes down in August or September when options are much more limited should be a high priority for the team. Maybe Teahen, maybe not Teahen, but SOMEBODY.

How about Freddy Sanchez? Think the Pirates would give him up for a decent price?

Well but the option is not Teahen unfortunately.

Again, i'd rather go for LaRoche and have Youk at 3rd full time.

I wonder if we could steal Kila Ka'aihue from the Royals. They have the kid blocked five ways to Sunday but I think he could hit if given a good long chance at the big league level. Could be a Ryan Howard type in the making.

They're not picking up another infielder unless they get rid of one in the process.

I don't see anything happening other than Lowell resting up and Lowrie taking a little longer than expected. Nobody will be interested in Lugo, or Lowell with his hip and salary. Green is playing well, Youkilis and Pedroia are going nowhere, Kotsay spells for Youk at 1st.

Stock up on pain killers for Lowell. They can't afford to have him go down.

I am not following Milb or MLB for that matter because of my work - so if someone can tell me why Chris Carter is not brought up I will appreciate. Certainly he is not worse than Bates with bat. I think he should be here unless he is on DL.

Why would you call up a LF/DH to play 1B?

I thought they were positioning him to play 1st base - I might be wrong.

You are, in fact, wrong. Carter's mostly been playing left.
