ESPN is reporting the Mariners are stepping up negotiations to bring back Griffey

I wouldn't be too happy about that if I was an M's fan. He's old. They need to move on and attempt to get back to fielding respectable teams. Griffey is certainly not helping them get any younger.

Eh, I'd be happy to have him back if I were an M's fan. If he's not going to go to a contending team, then the Mariners are the logical choice. Play one more year. Call it a career. They lost 101 games last year. No matter what they do, they'll still be bad.

Seems like it would be a good fit. They hold camp in Orlando where he's from, Atlanta isn't too far from home, he would platoon in left which would mean that since he's not out there everyday he has a better chance of holding up and not breaking down as the season goes on. idk I just think it would be a great fit for him, although I would love to see him in Seattle again.

Brian Roberts is close to a 4/40 extension according to Rosenthal, the Baltimore Sun and MASN. That should end the endless trade talk involving him

Apparently it's a done deal and Junior is headed back to the M's. As a big Griffey fan I'm glad to hear this. I do think the Braves might have been a better for for him, but it'll be awesome to see him in a Mariners uniform again.

I think Seattle is a better fit, simply because he can DH and will get more ABs.

I don't consider myself any overly emotional fan. I get excited about things but I don't fly off the handle. But seeing Griffey in a Seattle uniform has me about as Giddy as I can be for a non Sox move. Griffey was by far and away my favorite player growing up. Possibly the sweetest looking swing of all time. This is the player I remember most from my childhood. He's the reason I started wearing my hat backwards. The 2nd half of his career has not gone well. But this could be a nice bookend to a very strong career.

This is a great move for Seattle. This is going to be a huge ticket seller for Seattle this season. I do watch some games outside of the Sox. Usually the best match up, or to watch a certain player. The whole Griffey returns to Seattle will grab a lot of views from me personally.

I thought ATL was a better fit for his family life. Career wise, Seattle holds more value. Plus DHing will get him more AB's. And that's what everyone wants to see.

Likewise, Griffey (and Randy Johnson) were my 2 favourite players growing up. If it weren't for intervention on behalf of my Uncle...I probably would have been a Mariner's fan...
