Once again' date=' these arent the yankees as you will see them soon. DMats will get his shot next week. Matsui and Posada in this order is scary good.[/quote']

No. Its the same damn lineup. We've seen Posada for a long time and Matsui is in a decline. It really is nothing different than it has been the past 3-4 seasons. Don't pretend that Babe Ruth and Mickey Mantle are injured.

Listen man, chill on DiceK. He pitches backwards which will get him in trouble vs a team like the yankees. It will make him look ridiculously nasty vs a free swinging team. He'll dominate.

I'm not jumping overboard but I've seen enough from Matsuzaka to know there is a lot more there than we are seeing. Take Josh Beckett last night....got in trouble but then zoned in and did practically nothing but throw strikes. Dice-K can do the same thing but he isnt making proper adjustments and they keep talking about his routine.....i really believe thats an issue until he solves it

Maybe. But if I remember correctly Beckett gave up 5 runs yesterday, 4 in the first two innings. He did what he had to do to keep the sox in the game.

ANY pitcher could pitch against the Yankees every day and have an ERA of 7. Pedro called them his "daddies". What part is concerning? That he wouldn't be able to win in the playoffs, or that he "only" keeps them in games against the yankees when he's not pitching that well?

He has dominated against everyone else. I think a break and a vow of silence is in order.

Matsui is in a decline? Laughable to say the least. Matsui will finish the yr with a .290+ 20+ and 100+ line. He is 32 for christsakes and his only "decline" is a broken wrist on a dive and a pulled hammy when the temp was below 0. And the difference between Posada and Nieves is like the difference between Papi and Pedroia. And that is generous.

I hope Joe Torre keeps this up with Andy Pettite.....you can guarantee he gets injured this season if he continues to use him this way.

SITN, you arent seeing it for what it is. EVERY starting pitcher has a throw day 2 days after a start. The throw day is typically 45-50 pitches of full bore. The yankees usually do the throw day before the game. When it is pettitte's throw day, they wait until gametime and will have him throw it later in the game if he isnt needed.

Too many people on these boards think that anyone over 30 is in decline. I guess we should cut Manny and Ortiz and Drew

I agree. Manny and Ortiz are back of baseball card guys and Drew has been nothing but solid when he takes the field.

Joe Morgan is so f***ing dumb

Joe Morgan: changeup, gyroball, its the same thing

Jon Miller: well there's the changeup and then there's the gyroball

Joe Morgan: its the same thing

and it is none of the above. I'd love for these guys to actually do some prep work. You need a different mindset? It isnt about stuff? It isnt about location? It is about mindset? What a f***ing loser.

He is an injury waiting to happen. I'm afraid you don't know what its like to face the yankees as a fan. We're used to EVERY SINGLE POSITION being an all-star. It really doesn't matter to me one bit if Matsui comes back or not. last year you had Sheffield AND Abreu for awhile. Neives has hit the ball harder than Posada likely would have tonight.

You're not going to convince me that we should be shaking in our boots about some decent hitters who are out of the lineup. If you can't win with Damon, Jeter, Abreu, A-Rod and Giambi (2 HOF, 5 all-stars) plus Cano and a gg 1B then you just weren't meant to win that game.

That's what I'm saying, Yankees fans and the media the past few years have always felt sorry for the Yanks when they get off to a slow start or have injuries. When the Sox lose half their team to injuries its the fault of the FO that they didn't construct an indestructable team.

decent hitters? Posada is a top 3 catcher offensively. Matsui is a .900 OPS guy. These guys arent decent, they are all star quality. To say otherwise is dumb. And he is an injury waiting to happen? So his streak of over 1200 consecutive games means he is an injury waiting to happen?

Have some faith in the 'pen man.

OHHH that should have been a called strike.

I have faith in Papelbon, Donnelly and Okajima. I will give Timlin more time to redeem himself. Romero sucks though.

Dice gets past the top of the order. He's probably done. Time for the hits.
