your point rings 100% TRUE. This in part is due to our vaunted lineup had a bottom of the order that has averaged 3 pitches per AB. For reference' date=' Melky, Thompson, Nieves and Minky are 5 for 31. That is .161.[/quote']Minky got a couple of hits tonight. Abreu was the culprit this series. He really did nothing.

As good as Tito has been in the series I've gotta say he f***ed up bigtime here.

Can't you blame Okijima? I mean, Tito didn't pitch. I bet Hideki would be the first to admit it.

But he saw a lot of pitches and walked a few times when needed. Now the awesome Nieves is at the plate. This is the game and Nieves is at the plate. AWFUL.

3 days in a row for a guy who shouldnt be pitching that much is inexcuseable. See: Joe Torre.

No. Okajima gets a pass because of the work he's done this series, and the fact that he got squeezed to Posada.

Tito has a fresh Donnelly and I even would have liked to have seen Timlin in before Okajima for a third straight night.

First of all, I had one of those this morning and it was delicious. :D

Second, when Romero was up everyone was freaking out. BD is largely unproven with this club, Timlin is a hanging fingernail waiting to be bitten and Pineiro would have freaked people out. Okajima will be able to take a few days off now, I assure you of that. But Tito went with what has worked in the past and I don't blame him for it.

A beautiful play by Pedroia. Highlight film stuff right there.

But he's really short a700. What about how short he is?

Does the NCAA defensive player of the year mean anything to the skeptics now?

get arod up vs Paps. I have a good feeling for some reason.

Maybe because he's on pace to hit 200 HR and 350 RBI or something :dunno:

Paps right now is throwing so much cheese and ARod is just drilling all fastballs right now. I just want to be entertained. It would be one hell of an entertaining ab to say the least. Locked in ARod, locked in Paps. Battle to the death (of the game).

It would have been an easier play if he had not been a midget.:D

Absolutely. Of course, Papelbon does have that splitter too.

EDIT: with Phelps behind the plate, I hope Manny walks and tries a SB.

Here's the thing though...as good as Okajima has been, I think a big part of his success this week was that the Yankees had never seen him before.

Donnelly has been better than Romero this year, and past years. The only reason he's an unknown is that he's never used.

I'm glad they got out of it. Matsuzaka really shouldn't have started the inning, I would have liked either Donnelly or Timlin there.
