  1. How much do you think Cameron is going to cost at 36 years old?
  2. sign Mike Cameron, sign Matt Holliday, sign Aroldis Chapman (replaces Clay Buchholz) trade Jacoby Ellsbury and Clay Buchholz in a package for Adrian Gonzalez
  3. That would be really funny....great stuff
  4. You can never have too much pitching.....but what if they all suck
  5. I think there was a time we could have traded Bowden for Miguel Montero....wonder what he's worth now?
  6. With this news the best thing the Red Sox can do....make a huge trade and change the headlines.
  7. The Red Sox can't compete with Texas...there lineup is much better than ours
  8. Just got off the DL and had a very odd (yet successful) start. We just need our guys to start playing better. Jason Bay, Youkilis, Lowell, Ortiz....we need to hit and that relieves pressure on the pitchers. Buchholz has our only win after the All-Star break and in that game he had a 2-0 lead before he walked onto the field.
  9. If he hit it 400 feet I think that would be a home run to center field...was the CF at the warning track?
  10. They really needed to trade for a better hitter.
  11. Good at-bats by Drew and Kotsay....yawn
  12. I'm amazed how stupid Buchholz can make hitters look....how he isn't more dominant is beyond me
  13. Trade him and 2-3 more top prospects for Roy Halladay
  14. It's important to remember this comment for one simple reason: sometimes the minor league stats don't tell the whole story. Back when Bard was getting destroyed in A-ball some chose to believe his mechanics were a mess. It takes time for some players to have their mechanics broken down and re-established. Had Daniel Bard continued to pitch in A-ball the way he did in college you would probably have seen more respectable numbers. However, by changing his arm slot he has developed the slider he required to get MLB-caliber players out. He was never able to get the changeup needed to be a starter but thats alright...not everyone was meant to be a starter. Sometimes you need to step back before you step forward.
  15. As relievers I don't think you can go wrong either way with Joba or Bard. Just as Joba has struggled in the rotation so would Bard. Both have high velocity fastballs but not enough movement. Both have excellent breaking balls but they lack that third pitch which they both require as starters. If either had a changeup we would be talking about Justin Verlander type starters. I still think Justin Masterson could be a strong starting pitcher but whether he becomes Brandon Webb or Fausto Carmona is yet to be seen.
  16. I believe Daniel Bard has proved he is a better reliever than Justin Masterson. Clay Buchholz has more upside and is ready to explode in a starter role. Now the question is what to do with Masterson? I think he is too good as a long-reliever type but not sure he is good enough to be in the Red Sox rotation. I wonder what he could net the Sox in a trade this offseason?
  17. Do the Brewers have someone waiting in the wings behind JJ Hardy? Otherwise I'm not sure why they would be interested in a trade discussion or how this rumor came to be. I can see Jason Donald in Philadelphia since Rollins isn't going anywhere.
  18. The Red Sox want to be above league average at every position and right now we are talking David Ortiz and SS being below league average. I don't expect the SS situation to climb based on who we have and it's a lot of pressure for Jed Lowrie to come in, stay healthy, and produce respectable numbers. Based on his career batting stats I can assume JJ Hardy is a above average SS in the league especially if you place him in Fenway park for half his games and covered by the Red Sox lineup. Can't say I know a lot about his defense. I would like to see another quality left handed hitter in the Red Sox lineup but thats not essential. So I could see Hardy being the answer plus Lowrie surviving the rest of the season if he is the utility bench player. What does JJ Hardy cost? Michael Bowden? more or less...
  19. Casey Kelly latest start: 6.0 IP. 0 H. 0 ER. 0 BB. 6 K through 2 starts he has 10 K and 1 BB
  20. Talk to the Houston Astros about Lance Berkmen.
  21. If I was in charge then it would be....but I'm not and it's probably a good thing
