If that happens they'll probably call up David Murphy

and he should never get sent back down. Murphy would be a wonderful 4th OFer as he is a good fielder and can hit okay enough. WMP is a corner OFer at best.

Hollywood is lucky that ball didn't get caught. Cano has a boatload of talent, but nothing between the ears.

we have a lead? From the bottom of the order?

Again, these guys aren't A players. They're major league players who are either rising stars (Cabrera and Cano) or established vets (Dougy). Nobody is surprised.

it was a good play. He actually read it perfectly. Drew nearly made one hell of a play. But he knew how deep Drew was.

BTW, Nieves nearly fell on his face.

Dice-K does not look good. This will be the worst start for a Red Sox pitcher thus far. I'm not sure what Dice-K needs to do but he looks very human. A player with this many pitches and supposed great command cannot be happy with these results to this point in his MLB career.

No it isn't. Schilling's opening day start was considerably worse, and against this lineup I equate this with Tavarez's start against TX.

You guys are all jumping overboard here. I find it kind of sad.

EDIT: I didn't even read the end: to this point in his MLB career? The 24 K's over his first 3 starts tied a record of active players with El-Duque and Tim Hudson for a rookie's first 3 starts. He's not walking everyone. He has pitched in 3.5 games in the MLB now. Settle down.

Yes, it isn't the same as pitching against anybody. Only the Yankees are the Yankees.

Let's rock Pettitte.

Once again, these arent the yankees as you will see them soon. DMats will get his shot next week. Matsui and Posada in this order is scary good.

Dice keeps giving up these blooper softly driven hits' date=' just bad luck & ok run support has hurt him early on[/quote']Drew plays too deep on every batter. Honestly, Nixon would have caught two or three of those balls this weekend.

Pettitte coming in' date=' I hope we make him throw a tun of pitches. This could really backfire against Torre.[/quote']

when he came in vs Baltimore, Torre said he had a 20 pitch, pitch count and absolutely wont surpass it. We'll see if he holds up.

It was a lucky play. Whenever you are rounding the next base with your head down while the guy is 2' from catching the ball, with no outs, you are wrong. I have a feeling Cano will eventually turn into Robbie being Robbie, just without the HOF bat that Manny has.

Did Coco miss the memo that says we DO want him in the lineup when he's hitting the ball and DON'T want him in the lineup...well...any other time he's been with the Sox?

If he hits like this when he minorly strains an oblique, I'm praying that he strains the other...or the rest of them...or however many additional obliques one has.

Schilling's opening day start was worse. Tavarez's first start was worse. Give him a break, he's still a rookie and getting accustomed to major league ball

and what the f*** is Pettitte doing in the game?

I counter with Curt Schilling's opening day start

Dice will have his bad starts, Roger has had them, Pedro has had them, Curt has had them. Im not not even close to worrying he could be Beckett 05

I'm not jumping overboard but I've seen enough from Matsuzaka to know there is a lot more there than we are seeing. Take Josh Beckett last night....got in trouble but then zoned in and did practically nothing but throw strikes. Dice-K can do the same thing but he isnt making proper adjustments and they keep talking about his routine.....i really believe thats an issue until he solves it
