BLAME TORRE

Right now I am trying to get my bearings, so no blaming yet. Sounds like Clemens just didnt have it. I cannot blame him for going to Karstens, as he was probably the most rested and if we are losing by a couple runs, using Farns is actually okay. Sounds like the only thing Torre may have been guilty of was not using my boy Shelley Duncan (although the entire lineup didnt seem to mind) and not pulling Clemens earlier, which I can totally understand.

Clemens sucked, he was lucky only three of those runs were earned.

Philips went 2-4, and Betemit hit a HR, so I don't know where you can complain about Duncan.

Do you guys doubt at this point that they will be in the playoffs?

Yes. They have a really tough three week stretch coming up.

I will say this, the Yankees are wasting their best chance to get back into the division race. Gaining two games in two weeks, with the teams each has faced, won't get it done.

yanks are the hotttest team in the game at this point

the difference in starting pitching will prevent them from catching us but they are certainly in the race and in the wild card hunt too.

i bet them yesterday,

i parlayed them with the reds....it was easier to watch the reds meltdown when the wager was lost at 2oclock....

that proctor move doesnt make sense, the guy they picked up is a good ballplayer but the yankee pen has been used like a 10.00 bronx whore and with a few 4-5 inning starters on that staff they have no business dealing durable arms if they intend to succeed

wheres ramiro mendoza and aaron small when you need them

Butler just let him off the hook by chasing ball 4. He would have had to face 5 and/or 6 with runners on a lot of pitches thrown.

Phairly pedestrian outing phrom the Phuture. He had them ophph balance earlier and was hitting his spots, but after the Royals had seen him once, he wasn't phooling anyone.

Phil was rusty. Just like his first start in Toronto, actually almost identical. He'll improve, he has the stuff to do so. Location killed him today. The inning he gave up 4 runs had him give up a leadoff single on 0-2 and a line drive homer on 1-2.

The Yankees schedule since July 1st has been a joke. From July 1st to August 8 they will have played 33 of 36 games against teams with records of just about .500 or worse. the only team worth mentioning that they played against was the Angels before the All-Star Break

Sox just have to somehow hold their own until then, because starting August 10 the once happy go lucky yanks schedule will do a complete 180. From August 10 to the end of the month... Cleveland, Baltimore, Detroit (4 game series), Anaheim, Detriot (4 game series), Boston

That is very true. We have put ourselves in striking distance with 4 more powderpuff games to go. With all engines running, we will slam into the toughest opponents in the game and see what we are made of. We have gotten what we needed to out of the powderpuff part of the schedule, now we will have to show what we can do against the best. If we fare well in that span of games, we will be set as the last 5 weeks of our season is a joke as well (sans our 3 game set in Fenway).

7 =/= not striking distance.

Hughes was garbage, plain and simple. The tough stretch is coming, but at the same time, those teams are scuffling badly. We just have to win every series. So far, we have won 8 of the last 9. If the stretch continues, we'll be fine.

last 9 series

Twins

Angels

Devil Rays

Blue Jays

Devil Rays

Royals

Orioles

White Sox

Royals

clap, clap, clap... yea if you can take series from those teams, then every series is set in stone of the rest of the season. Why arent they rolling out the red carpet yet?

Wait I must remember this is the same guy who made a defining thread that this year's Sox will finish 86-76 in 3rd place

didnt you guys recently lose a series at home to the Royals,?

Lets put it this way...

The teams we have coming up are scuffling something hard. Records since July 1

CLE- 14-16

LAA- 13-15

SEA- 16-16

DET- 15-16

BOS and BAL are the only ones with .500+ win % in that span.

Um what? Yea back in the beginning of July when they were going throw their slump offensively. My apologies that I questioned a statement saying that the Yankees take every series for the rest of the season
