Shelley Duncan with his second homer in the game, 3rd in two games. Gotta cheer for a career minor leaguer.

So much for the ol' expected wins statistics... 18 runs in a game certainly skews it a bit.

after game 1 of the DH their pyth, win% was .580 and is the score holds up, two games later it goes up to .604, which is a ridiculous jump and why pyth. record should always be taken with a grain of salt

Yanks lost 14-4 on Friday. It evens out.

Remember, this stat predicts FUTURE success/failure. Basically what it says that if you are winning a lot of close games, the trend most likely won't continue, and vice versa.

Wee' date=' Sox pick up a game, you all come out of the woodwork. It's one loss. They'll deal with it. Doesn't change the fact that the Yankees are equipped for a good run down the stretch here. They'll be in the thick of things when the smoke clears.[/quote']

Yes the Red Sox fans gained a game and they came out of the woodwork...on a Red Sox site.

I really hate it, but Mussina can't have Posada catching him. He is ass terrible without his personal ball boy Nieves.

Mussina is a pussy but you're just as bad for thinking this is a legit excuse.

Very true.

Mussina pitched to Posada in 30 games in 2006. That didn't prevent him from having a 3.52 ERA, with Posada as his batterymate.

Yankees battering Royals 9-2 right now. About to get within 5 games in the L column (max deficit was 10 games) on the Guardians. Half way there....

Now that the Sox have won game one of the series' date=' are you sure you wouldn't like to see a sweep of the Guardians (assuming you sweep the Royals)?[/quote']

I dunno. I am hoping for a 3/1 split so we can gain some serious ground. Tomorrow will be the swing game.

Then again, it is still July and we have a fighting chance at the division, aim high, aim high.

Actually, 2-2 would be ideal. Assuming the Yankees win two out of the next three, that makes us gain a game on both of you.

We only have to beat out one of you to make the playoffs. I honestly don't care which one.

Stop fighting, GI. Japan is your friend. The masters back home are using you. They don't want you to come back. Give up and join us.

Ha! Tokyo Jackson. Good one ORS. He is a propaganda machine. Missed his calling...should be working w/ the "progressives" or on Michael Moore movies.

Which is why I suggested the 4-game sweep. Of course you should shoot for the sky, but I would have the wild card lead locked up first if I were you before you shoot for the division. It's more likely that you'll get into the playoffs via the wild card anyway.

Trust me, I've been in your position a LOT over the years. I was happy if the Yankees swept the wild card leader.
