You know this season there will be gaffs , f***ups ,snafus, and loads of chewing tobacco spewed all over.. like the way they did Rob Zombies mom in that video I saw

I suspect within 2 games this thread will be like Chris Hanson grilling a priest from Northboro Mass..

Lets get it on..

Papelbon blows his arm out, due to excessive usage by Tito Francona?

O/U: April 5th?

If he blows his arm out in April then Papelbon is in really really bad shape to begin with.

I see a 7-3 9nth inning situation first game and Tito trots out Pabst.. 123.. then the banshees will howl..

I really dont give a f*** if his arm flies off.. i want to win games however thats done is a ok with me.

Just keep him to one inning saves. But the longer Timlin is out, Tito will feel the temptation to use Paps in the 8th.

cause he knows Paps is clutch... but I agree to leave him to 1 inning saves, try an' use Donnelly in the 8th...

I'm worried for the one time Tito decides that "its ok to go two innings this game, It's only once, we need to win"

Then a few days later " well i did it once, and it worked well, this game is important"

And then a spiral starts.

After hearing Tito talk to the big show and dale'n'holley I don't expect him to overuse paps...he realizes how much he overused him last year (even though people kept telling him he wasn't using him enough) We will need him down the stretch if we are going anywhere so overusing him till he "blows up" is a good way to have us watch the world series!

He says "now" that he overused him. What happens in August when the sox are tied with the yankees and the yankees are going on their typical late season roll. If the sox dont make the playoffs this yr, tito is the scapegoat, bank on it. And I think Tito will value his job a bit more than Paps arm. When the rubber hits the road, Paps will get overworked unless someone steps up in that pen to lessen the burden.

Tito has a better lineup, better rotation and better bullpen than he did last season, he shouldn't need to use Papelbon as much

his bullpen is still full of the same retread jokers it always is. Take a look at that bullpen and seriously tell me who he is going to put into the 8th inning of a 5-4 game against the yankees in late september. Or against any team in September if the sox are still fighting for the division. Francona has Torre disease when it comes to bullpens. Unless they have options that are very strong, they will resort to default.

Donnelly.

Donnelly is not a guy you can look at as a cog in a bullpen. He is a very nice piece to have, but lean on him and he will break. Remember, he is 36 now and his stuff is obviously starting to decline (look at the slide in numbers). I think Donnelly is kind of a guy like Vizcaino. If we give him a good amount of innings and dont lean on him too much, he will be fine. If you put the entire pressure of the middle relief on his shoulders, you likely wont get a good result. As I said when you got him, I liked the Donnelly acquisition. Just not if he is being considered a big piece of your pen.

If it's against the Yankees and we're looking at Abreu, Rodriguez, Giambi, then I hand the ball to Romero without an ounce of fear. He dominates lefties, even when he stunk last year, and, as everyone knows, ARod isn't doing s*** in that situation.

Romero gets owned by NY. He'd walk Abreu and Giambi, obviously K ARod and then be pulled for Timlin who will allow both inherited runners to score before stopping the bleeding.

We've been over this before, his numbers against NY are magnified by the bad outings, but 80% he doesn't allow anyone to score, and his dominance against lefties is real. It doesn't matter though, because Tito won't use him in that situation if his binky, Timlin, is available.

Is that the first bash of the new season?

ORS, we went over it and you were harping on ERA. His WHIP was absolute garbage. Last 3 yrs, 15G 9.2IP 23 baserunners. Yeah, his ERA over that time was 6.9 but that is more due to his pen mates bailing him out. 23 baserunners in 9.2IP. That is atrocious. Absolutely atrocious.

I thought Tito did a good job today.... layin down and taking one when the BigBlowhard sucked ass.. what can you do..

The only critisim?.. Too many relievers .

I actually think that was a good thing. The guys needed some work and with the offday tomorrow, they might as well throw a few innings.

For a moment I had actually wanted to give Francona a mental high five when he stormed out of the dugout and took the ball from that piece of s*** Piniero. He looked animated and pissed off at the same time. I guess he saw what the rest of us have seen all spring---that this guy is garbage warmed over. Hang 'em and bang em Piniero. However, he resorted to his usuall dumbass self an inning later when he gave Wily Mo a chance to strike out again. Mission accomplished. Was there any better way to make all of us sicker than we were?

Look Jackson, no one in our camp is questioning your questioning of our shitpile bullpen, or at least they're not that stupid to do so. Fact is, Theo is going to have to get on the horn and get some help for down there and maybe another starter and catcher as well. That is, unless he wants a 150 hitter in that lineup this season. Varitek looks absolutely lost at the plate and Lowell, much as I love the guy, looks pretty bad as well. Crisp? Well, you know my fingers are crossed that Jacoby Ellsbury gets off to a flying start at Pawtucket and can take over CF by mid-season because I have this feeling that Coco Pops is just not going to be able to do it for us despite the ability he has shown in the past.
