We need a win today (easier said than done against Kazmir.) I don't know what we're going to get out of Wilson tomorrow, so I'd feel alot more comfortable with the series already won.

Gameday says Crawford grounds into a force out. Lugo out at 2nd, Crawford out at 1st. What happened?

Crawford grounded into a fielder's choice. He hit a bouncer towards second, Lugo slowed down for some reason and was tagged out at 2nd. Crawford was safe at first. On the next pitch (to Rocco) Crawford attempted to steal 2nd and was caught.

Good, more reasons for managment to think he should be kept on the team. -0.3 VORP going into tonight.

Rays are kicking the ball around the field for Kazmir. He needs to pitch out of a leadoff 2-base error.

Similar to last night, the only run scored is on dome bounce chopper up the middle.

Posada steals a base. Nice of the Rays to revert to Little League form right after we left town.

He is crazy, insane fast.

Bad move to send him. Does Baldelli have some outstanding gambling debt? He's been playing this series like the health of his knee caps are in jeopardy.

Nice to see the Devil Rays laying down for the Yankees.

Perhaps they want to do to you guys this year, what they did to us last year.

Kinda what I was thinking...which makes me nervous about Kansas City...but I think they are having fun with Toronto and using up all there good games.

That's just it. Last year was the anomally. This year has been the norm. They've traditionally played the Sox tough and - poof - turned into the AA team they really are against the Yankees. Although, I will say that this year's DRay team isn't as bad as they have played the last two nights.

They've had a pretty unfortunate night. Wang's done his usualy GB routine, but I haven't seen a Yankee IF have to make more than two steps to either side to field a ball. Everything has been right at someone, and several of them were scorched. On the other hand, just about every weak chop from the Yankees has found a hole since Kazmir left the game. But, hey, that's baseball.

Just wanted to share somethign I was thinking tonight. Melky Cabrera takes a lot of s*** from people, Boston fans and Yankee haters alike...even some Yankee fans, for his defense based on the mishap up in Boston last year. He earned the reputation as a bad outfielder for himself because of that, and also because of the error in right in his first game up this year (which I still say was the wind. I had a great angle of it sitting right down the right field line. But nevertheless). Melky is not a bad outfielder. He is a pretty good outfielder (I am hesitant to say very good, just because I want to see a little bit more still) with pretty good speed out there and a good arm (7 assists, I believe), and of course the ability to make a dazzling play here and there. The thing with him is he's a very aggressive outfielder, which has it's pros and cons. The pros have been on display all season with the great plays he continues to make. The cons were exemplified last year up in Fenway.

This is nothing of significance, just wanted to share my thoughts.

I don't thinks he's bad in the OF. Yeah, he definitely takes some aggressive routes, which will pay off when it works, and maximize the damage when it doesn't. So, you take the good with the bad there. And, he does have a decent arm. That's only half his contribution, though.

He doesn't do enough with the stick to play COF for a championship caliber team, IMO. His bat is better suited for CF, but he doesn't have the range play there. Offensively, he's replacement level, which should come as no surprise because that is what he is, a replacement. As a Sox fan, all I can hope is that his flashes of brilliance this year are enough to make Yankee management think he's a long term solution. I'd rather our pitchers have to face him than a Carlos Lee or Jason Bay type any day of the week.
