The same applies to just about every member of Red Sox Nation when it comes to the Yankees.

Another preconceived notion? No surprise there.

FYI, I'll keep harping on you about this until you stop making broad, sweeping generalizations about our fanbase. All fanbases are equally full of s***. All of them have complete nimrods that make it embarrasing to be associated with them. All of them have people capable of some pretty despicable behavior in the name of the rivalry. You don't get this. For some reason, you actually think the Yankee fan base is in some way different and superior to ours. And, even more hard to understand, you think that s*** will float here.

ORS, good points, and I should heed some of this myself I suppose.

I look at it this way...team loyalty is GENERALLY a product of geography. New Englanders tend to root for the Sox (although connecticut is split), those in the DC area are O's fans, those in Eastern Pa./West NJ might tend to be Phillies fans, etc. So that being established we now look at the citizens of various areas. There are a-holes in New England, there are A-holes in New York, there are a-holes in Cleveland, there are aholes everywhere.

The more we live and get around the more we find that people are basically the same all over...in terms of sports, we see a melting pot of knowledgeable fans, jerks, overzealous individuals, those who could care less about their local team, etc.in every market.

I know I have personally used to use the term "typical Yankee fan" to describe those "fans" that constantly throw the 26 WC in everyones face, that harp on the Bucky Dent s***, that make Buckner references. By my own admission and observations as described above I was painting all fans with one broad brush and that may be innapropriate on my part, as it is with 26 to 6's categorization of Red Sox Nation.

Since I am not the type of fan responsible for negative labelling of Sox fans, I have no problem doing my part to avoid the broadbrush approach...in 26 to 6's case, given his recent posts, he IS personally a cause of labelling NY fans in negative ways, so I wouldn't expect the same restraint.

No ARod tonight after his horror show last night. He's probably has double appointments with his 12 psychiatrists, or maybe he flew off for a follow-up mentoring session with Piniella.

How do Yankee fans feel that Fatty Ponson is wearing Tino's #24.

BTW A Yankee fan living in Baltimore told me that Ponson is so fat that he sweats gravy on the mound.

Ponson did a lot better than I expected. One big mistake in the first inning is likely to earn him the L, but he definitely did enough to earn another start.

He's a loser. He's one of those guys that does just enough to lose all the time.

Is this some kind of joke, a 9th inning rally led by Andy Phillips, Aaron Guiel, and Bubba Crosby? I swear that they are luckier than any franchise in sports.

The game is going to be delayed if the Yankees don't win it in the 9th here though. Its raining so hard.

Wow the tarp comes on with AROD still up to bat. Hmm lets see how AROD does when he has all this time to think about his big AB coming up.

Wow, I wish the Sox could get 4 outs in the 9th inning too. Easier to come back that way.

I'm sure you have. Umps makes mistakes all the times, some are bigger than others.(This one) Besides we were really getting hosed on the bad calls earlier this year.

I can't recall a blown call to this magnitude. Could you fill me in?
