Yeah he has great pitcher written all over him. Great stuff, great control, throws strikes and great size for a power pitcher (6-5 230).

John Lackey was perfect after giving up a leadoff double to Mark Kotsay on Friday night, retiring 27 straight A's in a complete-game shutout.

Lackey matched his career-high with 10 strikeouts. It was the his fifth career complete game and fourth shutout, his first since a 1-0 win over Tampa Bay on May 7, 2004. He hasn't allowed a run in his last 17 2/3 innings and is now 7-5 with a 2.88 ERA this season. Since Francisco Liriano is again under the innings minimum, only Johan Santana is beating Lackey in ERA among AL starters.
