You are how old? 16 or 17. So, you were 8 when the Yankees won in 1996. You didn't even know what the Infield Fly Rule meant. So, you have seen 4 WS Champions and 1 RS WS Championship. You didn't see Buck or Buckner. You have Aaron Boone, but lost the WS to an expansion team. You do did get to see the Red Sox beat the Yankees in the 2004 ALCS with the biggest comeback of all-time, or in the Yankees case-- the biggest choke of all-time. So, what are you squawking about with this 26 reasons to Hates Us. You've seen 4. I've seen 1. The score is 4 to 1, and our 1 was record-breaking.

Dude, I don't even know where to begin.

Before this gets moved to the fights and crap board, lemme just say that I'm not 16 or 17. I'm older, thanks. So quit insulting my intelligence.

Its all Buck Showalter's FAULT!!!

he had to include that goddamn dirt path from home to first at the BOB (I believe they changed the name of the park for the upcoming year as a matter of fact). If that was grass we would have won!! lol

How has this lasted 5 pages without going to fights and crap?

However you guys feel like justifying it is fine, but this is fighting over semantics. The arguments go

"26 WORLD SERIZ, YOU ONLY GOTZ 6!, LOLZ!"

"WELL WE WON iN 2004, SO WE'Z BETTR!"

"BOONE ROXORZ UR BOXORZ!"

"PFFF AROD IZ HAXOR"

"LAME, WE HAS DAMON! U HAS 2 TRADe MANNY 2! LOLZA"

"BECKETT OWNZ YANKEZ, CHOKZERS!"

Ok, we get it. Each team has their strong and weak points. Let's see how they do in '06.

ps-woohoo 1,000 posts.

Say what you want about 2003, 2004, etc...2001 will always be much harder to deal with.
Did any DiamondBack fans harrass you? Probably not, and plenty of teams have lost tough World Series in 7 games, but none have experienced the humiliation that the 2004 Yankees experienced. I'll bet a more than a few Red Sox fans bothered you about that loss. If not, let remind you about the great choke.

So you witnessed 77 and 78?

No, I'm not that old. But you are, so i guess according to your 'score' it's 6 to 1 for you. I think it's stupid to say you can't be a fan and appreciate what was done before your time. Tell Curt Schilling that, he's a huge Gehrig fan, even named his son after him (as I'm sure you know). Just because it happened before I was born doesn't mean I don't know about it, and can't appreciate it. I've seen the shows, the games, etc. are on YES all the time. Millions of Sox fans lived their whole lives without ever seeing even one. Does that mean they're not as good of fans? Come on man, it doesn't matter whether you were alive or not, just like it shouldn't matter whether you were actually at Game 4 or not in 2004. Sure, it would have been awesome. But it's not a pre-requisite for understanding and appreciating the accomplishment.

You have Yaz in your avatar. Are you old enough to remember his triple crown and AL MVP? Probly not. Do you bring it up when you talk about how great he was? Absolutely.

Yes, Yaz's Triple Crown got me started with the Red Sox. I bought Yaz Bread by Arnold's and had a Yaz hat. I don't talk about stuff that I have never seen such as the 5 Championship before 1920 that I did not see. How could I possibly enjoy something like that other than from a historian's point of view? So, to me the score is 6 to 1, because that is all that I have witnessed. A few of you should change your user names; e.g. "4 reasons to hate us" and "4 to 1."

Damn you ARE old. I'm sorry you don't have an appreciation for history like we yankee fans do. Maybe if there were more to appreciate...

I know plenty of history, but I don't crow about something I didn't experience. Speaking of history, do you know how many former Red Sox champion ballplayers were on the first Yankee Championship team. There were a few more than Ruth. History,I know my history.

there were 9 including all pitchers and reliever(s), etc. some things never change
No, there were 8 former Red Sox Champions. Waite Hoyte came from the Sox, but never planyed on a RS Champion.:thumbdown

ah right he played the year after they won it...sorry missed the 'champion' part of it
Trick question I admit, but I am impressed with the attempt, 4 Reasons to Hate Us.

Sadly enough, my lucky number is 26... but I never realized this particular significance before.... and worse yet, I'm from Rochester, NY... but that NEVER made me a Yankee fan.... even though I grew up listening to Yankee games on the radio.... back when Norm Siebern played left field.... but it was Gary Blaylock, playing for the Rochester RedWings as a Cardinal farm hand, wearing number 26, that made me choose 26 for my number.....

Did you hear him at the All Star game? When they were interviewing him, he sounded like he had those braces things where it goes around your head.

I didn't hear Damon but I heard Varitek, who has some strange accent or something weird goin on with his speech.

No. Because the Yankees franchise hanst won only 4 championships, theyve won 26. The Red Sox havent only won 1, theyve won 6. My username reflects the franchises championships, not the championships that were won in the lifetime of 26 to 6.

You are an idiot. Seriously, why does it bother you the Yankees have 26 World Championships or the fact that a Yankee fan would be proud of it?

No matter how much you try to rationalize or argue otherwise, the Yankees still have 26 World Championships.

isnt there a talkyankee place for all of you yankees fans to go to annoy and talk to each other rather than come here. there's more of you on here than ever.

No offense (well actually quite a bit)...but no really cares what any of you think or have to say.

we all are well aware of the championships, we are all aware of the biggest choke in baseball history and we are all aware that yankees fans are obnoxious and extremely boring small minded inbreds-but that's cool you all have each other...so why dont you all go play nicely with each other and leaves us alone.

I am just going to drop it now, I feel like a 10 year old kid fighting with his best friend about who the better superhero is, Batman or Superman.

Why does it matter to you?? I practically never see you here. I remember you used to be here a lot when I first joined, but lately I havent seen you at all until the past few days.

Talkyankee places are filled with bandwagon fans and idiots, and are rarely fun. What's the fun in arguing with people who agree with you?

Then why are you devoting an entire post to us? If you don't care what someone has to say, ignore it. It's quite simple.

:wtf:

Just going to ignore this, because, frankly, I don't know where to start.

I read on a yankees board during dmon`s press conference that they took his impediments to mean that he was nervous and excited to be a yankee. Silly yankee fans, he`s just stupid!

C'mon, are you serious? I'm an idiot? You come up with a user name which is meant to annoy Red Sox fans and then you ask why it bothers me. Why doesn't your user name compare the Yankees Championships to St. Louis, which has the second most. It is a little immature to design a user name that is meant to irritate, and then as why the intended target (Red Sox fans) is irritated.

Thank you for proving a point I made earlier.

I have no problem with Yankee fans talking here. Its those with usernames with 26 in it, or Sox suck, or have ridiculous crap in their signatures that piss me off. Its very smug considering this is a Redsox forum in the first place. The point of their whole existence is to be controversial, irritating, and petty.
