  1. Just what the Sox need: money for nothing.... well, at least too much money for what he's bringing....
  2. Sadly enough, my lucky number is 26... but I never realized this particular significance before.... and worse yet, I'm from Rochester, NY... but that NEVER made me a Yankee fan.... even though I grew up listening to Yankee games on the radio.... back when Norm Siebern played left field.... but it was Gary Blaylock, playing for the Rochester RedWings as a Cardinal farm hand, wearing number 26, that made me choose 26 for my number.....
  3. You know, I can see ragging on him for his defection from the Sox, but for his stutter? Maybe he should sing his answers to the press.... supposedly singing cures stuttering when the person is singing....
  4. Surprised that so many of you are sticking up for these ball players who are "sick of Boston" (however it was said or implied....). In Boston, the media and the fans live on a daily basis with the Red Sox. The Red Sox are cared for by the fans and covered by the media like no other team in sports. This guy, Foulke, chose to take the big bucks and come to Boston.... did he pay attention to how things work in Boston? Apparently not. He has been a disaster for the Red Sox this year (and I'm not too thrilled with Matt Clement's efforts, either, as I'd expected a great deal from him) and deserves to be booed and asked the same questions repeatedly. I have zero sympathy for Foulke....
  5. It bothers me that some of you on this board are so eager to get rid of Kevin Millar! He is part of the heart and guts of the team, irrespective of how well he is or isn't hitting this year.....
  6. I saw speculation elsewhere that one of the names is David Ortiz, which is what sent me running here to see what you people were talking about.... lordy, I hope not....
  7. Sure, he was dazed and confused.... he'd just fallen 40 feet (or whatever it was), could have broken his neck, might have been a little concussed.... so that part of it didn't have to be an act. But, the fact is, he jumped. Fans want to be noticed, too....
  8. TO is an obnoxious jerk with a big mouth; Raffy is mostly a quiet guy who has been suddenly thrust in to this ridiculous bs about steroids. I simply don't know what all the fuss is about with the steroids issue.... players are always looking for an edge, and it was not against baseball rules to use them or other performance enhancing "drugs".... suddenly it's against the rules, and they catch Raffy after he made his impassioned performance in front of Congress.... sorry, something don't ring true here. Smacks of a set up of some sort to me..... Anyway, I live down here in NoVa and the Orioles are the team we see on tv (a little of the Nationals now, too) and I will continue to cheer for Raffy. Mostly can't stand football at all any more, except for the Patriots and Tom Brady and Tedy.... I used to be a big football fan in days of old, but too many players like TO have soured me on the "game"....
  9. Graffanino seems to me to fit the Red Sox. Never was too sure about Bellhorn.... used to cringe when Bellhorn came to the plate, both with the Cubs and the Red Sox.... haven't really missed him this year....
  10. I was a big fan of Mike Greenwell, too.... although I'm not sure about that Little League incident that got in the papers last year (I think.... although, I confess, I can't even remember what the exact incident was.... some kind of anger display, though....)
  11. Better than I ever expected him to be!
