Probably not, but it's because he is a terrible basketball player.

He has been for a while, but every year he winds up getting a one year contract somewhere. Probably because for all his flaws, he's one of the few guys in the league who is able and willing to box out.

Jason Collins came out as gay. Wonder if anyone signs him for next season.

Its an interesting question. Glad to look over tweets and see Kobe, Dwayne Wade, Steve Nash, Magic Johnson, Bill Clinton, and his own team the Wizards (well, for a few games) showing such support.

If he ever plays another NBA game, this is a big deal. It may diminish his cultural impact if he doesn't get signed this offseason.

Gotta admire the guy's courage and philosophy about the whole thing.

I just wish he (and anyone else who does it) didn't have to come out at all. That they didn't have to announce "I am gay" like it's some defect or something that needs to come with a warning. If only they could just live their lives and let people figure it out for themselves, without those people flying off into fits of homophobia - which I am sure is gonna be rampant in locker rooms across the country now, as insecure men wonder who else might be gay. Because sure as s*** the number of active players who are gay is >1.

Zach Randolph isn't flashy, isn't very athletic, but he knows how to rebound, is very crafty on the offensive end and uses his body to his advantage better than any other player in the league. Hell of a performance by him tonight, especially in the 4th. I love this dudes game, he is definitely one of my favorite players in the league.

After being down 2-0, Memphis is now up 3-2 with game 6 in Memphis. Oh and Clippers lost Blake Griffin to injury tonight and may be out rest of series.

Tough times down here in LA Jason. Fortunately, though, I don't give a s*** about the Dodgers or Angels, or Kings or Clippers, but seeing the Lakers get humiliated all season is a bummer. Just three short years ago they beat the Celtics in perhaps the most exciting NBA Finals I had ever seen and now they are in the gutter with a miserable year and a less than impressive future. Then there are my Ducks. I want one winner this year though if I had a choice it would be the Red Sox hands down.

I'm honestly very surprised with how both LA teams seasons are ending up. The Lakers had 4 future hall of famers in their starting lineup, limped into the playoffs due to chemistry and injury issues and finally appeared to be clicking and healthy, then Kobe tears up his knee. Sucks, I'm not a Lakers fan but the playoffs just aren't the same without Kobe.

Then you have the Clippers who early in the season looked a championship contender, winning like 17 games in a row and appeared to be clicking on all cylinders, now they are struggling and look like they are going to lose this series to Memphis.

Speaking of injuries, the amount of players suffering serious injuries and missing time or being hindered by the injuries all season is ridiculous. Kobe, Westbrook, Rose, Rondo, Wall, Amare, Danny Granger, Gasol, Irving, Kevin Love, David Lee, Gallinari, ect, then you have guys who are playing (or were playing anyway) with injuries that are hindering them such as Dwight Howard and Manu. I've never seen so many star players injured in a season, its ridiculous.

I don't think he's a star, I mean he's good, but he doesn't really compare with the rest. I just threw him in there because he is pretty good and suffered a serious injury.

I'm a Spurs fan and after all the times they beat us I'm happy it went the other way this time.

It is kind of freaky Jason and I don't have a valid reason for the plethora of injuries. I can take a couple of wild guesses though. These players are all more muscular than those of yesteryear and carry more muscle weight on their bodies. They are also very tightly muscled from all the weight lifting. Their bodies are not supple and when he run into another player it is like hitting a ton of steel. Not to mention when they fall the thuds are harder on their bodies because there is more of it to fall. Look at all the hamstring injuries in baseball. I am still very suspicious about the over emphasis on weight training. I think many players and team overdo it, and it MIGHT be a reason for all the mishaps hitting the players in both baseball and basketball. Football, however, is another kettle of fish. I can well understand what happens in that sport. It seems more and more the players are playing demolition derby with their bodies.

Piasan, I don't know what the hell you had to be worrying about when your team played mine this first round of playoff basketball. You could have mailed it in, or, better yet, we should have mailed it in ourselves and chalk it up to experience. I don't ever remember the LA Lakers looking so pathetic as they did against the Spurs. We never had a ghost of a chance.

As great a win as last night was, I'm getting a kick out of all the journalists and forum voices acting like the Celtics are some undead, uber-dangerous team that can always be trusted to turn back the clock and should never be counted out. Goes to show how amazing that game 4 finals comeback in 2008 was; it's 2013 and we're still surfing on it.

Seriously, the only other time besides that game we 'came back from the dead' was getting to the finals in 2010 after a bunch of bad regular season losses. In 2009 we pissed away two chances to shut the door on the highly beatable Magic, and we were sent home for it (we came out completely flat in game 7 on our court). In 2010 we s*** the bed in game 3 at home, and again in game 7 after we had a vice grip on it. 2011 we were injured and just thoroughly outplayed by Miami. Last year we took game 5 in Miami, then came back and laid an egg in Boston. Three of our last four seasons have ended because we got cocky and took games off, so I don't know where this mystique ******** is coming from. Its silly.

I agree, although I think this teams overall track record was pretty solid (one championship, one trip to the finals, one trip to the conference finals) but I agree I will always feel like this team should have won 3-4 championships and they choked in some big moments. There were also some very fantastic moments along the way.

I honestly think the Celtics could win this series, not because of mystic, but because the Knicks are incredibly over rated.

Well I mean he only played one minute and grabbed 1 rebound, but the fact he played period is amazing. Although, he didn't do much in terms of stats, him checking in the game really pumped up the crowd and it seemed like him playing inspired the Warriors.

I really like the Warriors and Grizzlies, I'd love to see one of them make the finals, that would be crazy.

Should tonight be added to the list of failures I mentioned earlier? On one hand coming out like this at home in an elimination game is pathetic, on the other hand we're the underdog in a 2-7 matchup, and losing in six isn't an outrageous outcome for that, especially considering we were down 3-0.
