Cavs want Oden. I hope they're only offering minimum wage. I know it wasn't his fault, and I'm not a Trailblazers fan, but the extent of his multiple injuries was ridiculous. For some reason it burns me when first round picks bomb in any sport (unless they're on a team I hate ;) ). While on the subject, reaches annoy me too.

Wizards have beat Heat, Thunder and Clippers this year. Any other team done that?

Anybody could beat the Clippers right now, but still a good sign of progress for them.

The Wizards just beat the Knicks as well. It kind of sucks to see this team playing so well and wonder what could of been had Wall/Nene been healthy all season.

If they didn't have so many injuries at the start of the season, they would be competing for a playoff spot easy, especially in the east. Wall missed 30+ games, Nene missed 15, Ariza missed 14, Price missed 14 and Beal missed 10. They had so many injuries at one point they were starting guys who aren't even on the team anymore (Shelvin Mack, Shaun Livingston and Earl Barron).

Also, Martell Webster has been a hell of a pickup, this dude can ball and he should receive a pretty nice contract from somebody going into next season. He is lights out from 3 and FT line.

Holy s***, I just saw the numbers Lebron has been putting up lately and they are absolutely insane. I know you just kind of expect this s*** from Lebron, but the past few games have been absolutely unbelievable. In tonight's game he put up 30 points in 31 minutes, on only 11 shot attempts, made 4 3's and threw in 5 rebounds, 5 assists an 2 blocks.

I don't get why not many are talking about Lebron for MVP, he is pretty easily the most valuable player in the league and is having arguably his best season of his career. Shooting 55% from the field, 40% from 3 and averaging 27 PPG, 7 APG, 8 RPG, all while playing elite defense.

Yet, everybody thinks Durant/Melo should win MVP.

Too bad they maxed out on cap space for likes of Okafor and Ariza.

Because MVP's a fluff award that's given, not earned, and the voters are biased against players who are too dominant. The fact that Shaq only got one MVP award and Jordan wasn't the recipient of every MVP award from 87-88 to 97-98 (excluding his two retirement seasons in the middle) blows the award's credibility to bits. Hell, after Jordan's 2nd retirement Shaq should have won the award every year from 98-99 to 02-03. He was clearly the most dominant, feared player in the NBA during that time. Instead, Duncan won two, he was damn good but Shaq was better, and an aging Karl Malone, who didn't even have a remarkable season by his standards, and Iverson's 42% FG percentage won it the other two times.

It's about novelty. For the sentimental, soft-headed tits that are in charge of handing out the award, having the same player win the award for X amount of years in a row would be dull. So the voters mix it up for the sake of novelty, with f*** all regard to objectivity or reason.

LeBron should be working on his fifth straight MVP right now. But the voters were assmad that LeBron told Cleveland to eat s***, so they handed it to Rose in 2011. Smart money's on Durant winning it this year, just because. It's ********.

Are you serious? Cap space doesn't mean anything in Washington, seeing as it's not a destination city for star free agents. If a team like the Wizards is going to get help from outside, it's going to to be through a trade. They're already starting to gel and improve as a team, if they take the next step next season and find themselves in the playoff hunt, they'll have Okafor's mammoth expiring deal to dangle as trade bait. If you follow the NBA, you should know that the trade market is all about contracts.

Taking on Okafor and shedding Lewis was a smart move for Washington. I wanted the Celtics to go after Okafor back when the Hornets were league-owned and look to get rid of salary. His contract would have provided us future trade flexibility, and in the meantime his rebounding would have been more than welcome, seeing as we've sucked ass on the boards pretty much since Leon Powe left, and it cost us the 2010 title and probably a finals appearance last year.

These are all good points and I completely agree. Its just stupid that the voters get bored of a player being too dominant and decided to spread around MVP's. Durant and Melo are having great seasons, but Lebron is easily the most dominant/valuable player in the league.

Yep, again, this is 100% true. The Wizards aren't a team that appeals to star free agents and can go out and make a huge splash. Pretty much every single player on their roster that was even decent in the past few years was acquired via trade or draft. The only "star" free agent I recall the Wizards signed was Gilbert Arenas when he left the Warriors and it wasn't like he was an all star or anything before he went to DC.

I was completely fine with the off-season moves. Blatche was terrible and was a cancer to the team and needed to go. Lewis was terrible and contributed nothing and going into the season before Wall got injured. I also liked the selection of Beal, who has been pretty nice, like the other guys when healthy.

The idea going into the season, was that playing with veteran players like Okafor, Nene and Ariza would help Wall's development and although it took a while for all of them to be healthy, it has proven to be true recently.

Thanks, it's slightly different than a few other forums so I was confused. I should have found a post where someone else embedded it and copied the formula.

You guys are right, the real God is Nazr Mohammed, I've never seen such a highly talented offensive player in my life, he's like a black Brian Scalabrine
