Yeah he was always being a prick when not on camera. I saw it plenty of times. Always yelling things at people and blowing that stinky f***ing cigar smoke everywhere.

I used to sit up in a seat behind Johnny Most and shoot the s*** with him. He got to know me by name and would share his English Oval cigarettes with me.

I used to run to get him coffee during games.

That man was sort of unfortunate looking and most people might guess he was gruff but to me he was always a sweetheart. He would turn and see me sit down and say "Hey kid!".

I had all types of interesting encounters and conversations with opposing players prior to games. Loyd Neal, Geoff Petrie, and Dave Wohl come to mind. I also spoke with Bob Love and Bob Weiss from the bulls. Love was a cool dude.

Great great memories - Mine were limited to listening the games in the pantry of our old kitchen up here in Maine. Mom and I - lifelong fans. Johnny Most - high above court side. Used to try to sound like him - tough to do.

Man that Demarcus Cousins injury was brutal. He's having a monster season, looked as if he would finally play in a playoff game, and tears his achilies saving a lose ball in a close win over Houston. Sucks

And in a year that he was about to be a free agent. It is a devastating injury. Very sad - he was having a great year.

Just watched the video tribute to the 86 Celtics. That really was the best bb team that I ever saw play. The 80's in general saw some amazingly talented players with very special skill sets. They weren't all Celtics either! I have a new found respect for the Chief as well!

Yup.

I met Robert Parish once in a DeAngelos sub shop on RT9. in Natick. His wife was sitting in their Mercedes when I arrived and he was sitting sideways in a booth waiting for his order to be ready. I ordered and as I was walking past him I said "I bet you are glad that series is over."

He looked at me and said "You got that right". The Celts had just been mauled in the finals by the Lakers.

Robert Parish has always been a cool dude in my mind. Hell of a player, too.

Blake Griffin to the Pistons was a very weird trade.

I think the Pistons got raped. Didn't they give up 2 number 1s and a second?

Even if it's only one of each they lost what they need to rebuild with. Griffin will do nothing for that team.

Detroit must be desperate for some star power because this trade does very little for them from a basketball standpoint. They're locked up with all sorts of bad multi-year contracts so no additional help is coming unless they blackmail someone else's GM. They only gave up one first rounder by the way, has protections on it until 2021. But holy christ what a poorly-run organization they've become.

The Clippers are cleaning house for either a full rebuild or to try and sign whichever star the Lakers don't bring in. Or maybe they somehow swing both. They might be able to flip Bradley and Harris to the Cavs and sucker that Brooklyn pick out of them.

Those Toronto Raptors are very very good.

Almost as good as the Celtics who have played almost every minute of the year without one of their star players.

It will be interesting to see if he makes a return this year. I'm thinking that a trade could happen very soon as well.

I doubt Hayward's coming back this year. If he does, he's not going to be in peak basketball shape, he'll probably have the injury yips, and he'll have to be reintegrated into all the team's sets, which isn't an easy process this late in the season. I'd rather just put him on the shelf until training camp. Makes things a lot simpler.

Trades are always possible but all indications are Ainge doesn't want to give up any 1st rounders for a rental, which I can't blame him for this season since I don't think we're set up to have a particularly good showing in the playoffs.

Cleveland just traded IT and Channing Frye to the Lakers for Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr.

Pretty good deal for both sides. IT to Clarkson is a downgrade in terms of pure talent, but IT hasn't been producing, has a major small man's complex on the court, and indications are that he was a cancer in the locker room, while Clarkson is used to a more complementary role, which will be needed among all those all-stars and former all-stars. Nance should bring some energy on the defensive end.

Meanwhile both IT and Frye are expiring contracts so LA's going to have $69 million in cap space this summer. That's enough to sign two max free agents no questions asked, plus they have Deng's dead contract sitting on the roster, they can package that plus Ingram plus a draft pick or two (first rounders are increasing in value lately since nobody wants to part with them anymore, thanks in part to Danny raping Brooklyn) for any additional star/max players that become available in the offseason. The Lakers still have to close the deal in the summer but they've put themselves in a hell of a position.

Aaaaand now Cleveland just got George Hill and Rodney Hood for Jae Crowder (trash), Iman Shumpert (trash), and Derrick Rose (whatever). They also sent Wade back to Miami.

Wow. I guess they couldn't move IT.

Why do people still think Rose can help? He can't stay on the court.

They traded IT to the Lakers earlier. I'm not sure what Utah's angle is in trading Hood for Rose, they're just dog-paddling along like usual I guess.

Really good day for the Cavs, clearing out the locker room cancers and highly-paid nothings and bringing back some guys that can actually help them. Reminds me of when the Sox got rid of Beckett, Crawford, and A-Gon in 2012.

Yeah I just saw the IT trade to LA.

The Cavs still have the best player and Love when healthy.

IT is definitely the most talented player in the trade, but he not been himself this season, I'm not sure if its injuries or what but he's been one of the worst players in league this year. He's always been awful defensively (size being a partial reason), but this year he wasn't even shooting well. His play factored in with the cancerous locker room attitude, the Cavs had to move him. Overall, I think Cavs did a decent job, they traded a ton of cancerous/trash players for some very good young players.

At the very least, these guys will show effort, unlike IT, Rose and some of those other guys showing 0 effort.

I am glad Danny stood pat at the deadline.

Danny has go a lot of Red in him. I like that. He has to do things differently but he has a great plan.

All 4 of our sports teams seem to have competent GM's right now. So much fun.

Sox won back to back division titles. Bruins are one of the best teams in the league. Celtics are one of the two best teams in the east and have been rolling since middle of last season. Pats appeared in 3 of the last 4 super bowls. Times have been pretty good since 1999.

Yes and yes. Grabbing Stevens and drafting/ signing/ trading has been fun to watch. So many good moves.

The Lakers made out best.

They dumped salary (Clarkson) and added a first round draft pick- not easy to do.

They'll have $70M to spend next summer, and still have a small core of good young players in the mix..

They do have some interesting young talent but unless a huge move is made along with some other complimentary moves the Lakers will continue to suck ass.

They have been playing much better, though. Maybe it's because the pimple faced eraser face rookie has been sitting.

That kid is very over rated.

Yeah, when I said "core of good young players," Ball was not in my mind.

With $70M to spend, they could conceivably get LeBron and another big player or two pretty good ones.

here is the thing. I get the deal that most of us here are extreme Yankee haters. Not so much I guess for me. Now, the Lakers, that is a different story for me altogether. i do not like the Lakers. Their rivalry with the Celtics has been one of the greatest stories in the history of sports. Personally far richer than any Red Sox Yankee rivalry for me. Two incredibly successful franchises and in the end the ultimate Rusell vs Chamberlain. I take Rus everyday. I watched him play. I studied how he played. He was the absolute best team player/superstar that I have ever seen. Larry might come close but Rus was Rus - the greatest of all time. Also the next beer I am about to drink is in honor of the way Danny does business!
