Yeah, i admit it. It's obvious. It's also obvious that most people have gotten off the bandwagon in 2001, and most people now dislike the yankees and regard them as a mediocre team for a team with such a high payroll. They are regarded as *******s among most people now.

They're far from mediocre and the only ******* on the team is sheffield.

I said they are mediocre for a team with such a high payroll. That obviously means such a highly paid team should not be in 2nd place.

*******s;

Kevin Brown

Randy Johnson

Gary Sheffield

A-Rod

and thats about it. Oh yeah, steinbrenner.

In some peoples minds, a team with a $208 Million dollar payroll should have a 15 game lead in their division. AND A-Rod IS an ass-hole

Manny's assists are not jsut because of playing in Fenway, if you watch him his arm is deadly accurate and deceptively strong. He also has a very very VERY quick release.

why couldn't he when he had an ERA below 1? Tell me, does reynolds have season tickets to the yankees games? No. Peter gammons is a sox fan. He is the most biased person on there. You just think that since one person is willing to go against the grain and give the yankees credit, he's a yankee fan.

Who is unbaised for someone who HAS tickets. Rivera has had a great season, but the Cy Young is Buerhle's, Garland's, or Maybe Santana's

Whatever, it's not like all the Red Sox are perfect angels. I know that you all like to jump all over Arod, jealousy is a very powerful emotion, but he is only human.

cant say the "J" Word here, ive already had a new ******* torn for that (even though we both know its true ;) ) And it is no different than trying to mow down a catcher, its not specified in the book that u cant bump a player with the intention of making him lose the ball, just as long as you are in the basebath, which I believe he was. And you're right, if it were Manny, it would just be Manny being Manny. The Red Sox drink jack before games, its a cool, accepted thing...how much do you wanna bet that if the Yankees were taking shots before a game that it would practically be a crime.

That ******* also happens to be the heart of our offense.

How do you know these guys are *******s, how well do you know them. Kevin Brown, though he is well hated here, seems like a pretty nice guy. RJ is an *******, that was demonstrated when he shoved a camera man. A-Rod isnt an *******, he does more charity work than probably any Red Sox player.

This is the epitome of stupid post.

The 'slap' play has nothing to do with his candidacy now, and he's still the Most Valuable Player in the American League for 2005.

yeah you wish buddy

It doesn't matter. It's still ESPN. I don't know why you're arguing this. It's pretty much a known fact that ESPN is anti-yankee. Most people root against the yankees, so of course they're going to cater to that.

I wouldnt go as far to say that they're anti-Yankee, most of the SportsCenter hosts are Yankee fans, and while Yes, the yanks get support from the Baseball Tonight crew, so do the Sox. And watch when they have all of the National writers on Sportscenter or ESPNEWS, most are anti-yankee....Rob Neyer definately.

Well, I would have to disagree with you there 26 to 6. I think the heart of your offense is A-Rod

Well I think that anybody who follows the Yankees closely has to disagree with you, A-Rod is good btu Sheff is more clutch (hitting over .400 with RISP), always seems to come up with a big hit, and when a guy gets on in the first inning, its pretty much 50/50 that sheff is going to knock them in to set the tone for the game...Sheff gets my vote for heart of the offense.

But A-Rod is still my MVP...and many other peoples

Yeah, I'd agree with that. John Kruk seems to give the Sox more credit that any of them, IMO. BUt when it comes to the National writers, most are anti-Yankee, unless your talking about Jay Marriotti, Woody Paige...wait those are ESPN employees. :o

But seriously I agree with you that alot of national writers are anti-yankee

I was going to say "except clutch" but I didn't have any stats to back myself up. I knew that about Sheff and his .400+ RISP, but I dunno, A-Rod scares me when hes hitting, hes so good.

If you watch Manny play on a regular basis, you'll notice that he makes as many spectacular defensive plays as his "Manny moments". I feel that the "Manny moments" are shown more because they are often pretty ridiculous and way out of the ordinary. But often when he drops them he is able to recover and throw the guys out at 2nd or 3rd (as he did with Cano earlier this year).

agreed...but the "Manny Moments" shouldnt take place at all.

hah...Woody Paige is a New Yorker who just isnt from New York...ever since going to the Post from a Denver paper, hes like the NY media spokesman haha

All I say is ESoxPN and I open up a can of worms. I really do not think that some of you know what you are talking about, and your hardcore love of the Sox completely blinds you from seeing the overall, clear picture. This quote, in a nutshell, describes the entire mentality of ESPN and ESPN.com

After the Yankees' dynastic decade, it's so thrilling to write them off.

Come on: Join in. It's easy.

Our love for the sox blinds us from seeing the real picture, yet you and all these yankee fans keep bitch and moaning alll the damn time about how bias ESPN is. Maybe your yankee love is keeping you from knowing that we don't give a s***, because after all this is a damn red sox forum. Half of you seem too stupid enough to realize that we did not care, we don't care now, and in the future we will not care. Give it up. You won't change our opinion. We think most of you are idiots, you think we are idiots. So what. f*** off already.

It's like obsessive christians going into a mosque and trying to convert muslims. It doesn't work, and if it goes on too long somoene is going to get a rock upside there head.

I am not bitching, I am trying to state my opinion on a topic. Just because my opinion differs from yours you can't consider it without cursing and writing people off? It's just sports talk, not a personal attack or anything.

Yeah, but like i said, this is a red sox forum, we could care less about your opinion, so stop trying to make us believe it. You want yankee opinions, go to a yankee forum. There seems to be more of you here then red sox fans now, and its annoying.

Dude shut up they have every right to be here. It's fun having Yankee fans here, makes the conversation more interesting. None of them are overly obnoxious, none of them have been disrespectful, I really don't see what your problem is.

Meh, if the Yankees don't make the playoffs (hypothetically, *knocks on wood*), it might be detrimental to Rodriguez's credentials for MVP. Mmk, that's all I'm saying. ;) And being the team player that he is (heh), he'd rather be hugging the WS trophy, anyways.

Me? Dreamer? Why, 'course not! :D

You mean, any time ESPN says something negative about the Yankees, it's because of an anti-Yankees bias? Oh yes, because in the eyes of a Yankees fan, everyone is biased against the Yankees -- you'll see the umpires bias against the Yankees mentioned in every thread on a Yankees board. If the MLB and ESPN didn't care about ratings -- then yeah, it'd be a possibility that they'd show a bias against the largest market -- but they do.

Now, with that aside, it's too early to pick an MVP. Last season, Vlad got it a lot because of what he did late in the season in carrying his team -- who knows if someone will do the same this year.

I actually agree with A-Rod here, A-Rod has silently had a superb season. Ortiz is a great pick but I don't think he will get it.

They're alll three of them great offensive players, only thing I think gives A-Rod a slight edge is his defense has actually been as valuable as his offense since June.
