PLEASE! John Kruk, HAROLD REYNOLDS! (Who I swear sleeps with Yankee sheets at night) ESPN is infested with Yankee lovers.

You are out of your mind if you think ESPN is not ridiculously biased with yankee haters. Reynolds is the only one who gives them respect. Ever look at page 2? It's riddled with anti-yankee articles. Saying ESPN has yankee loves is beyong absurd. Almost as absurd as saying ortiz is a shoo-in for MVP.

btw, manny had his 13 outfield assist tonight....leads league.

Ok? And how many times has he let a ball drop because he doesn't feel like getting to it? If you think manny is good defensively, you need to watch games and not just look at the boxscore.

oh yeah A-fraud is gonna win it for sure, they shouldn't even vote on it

No he definitely will not, but neither will anyone on the sox. Vlad will, if the team gets to the playoffs.

maybe a most valuable cheater..lmao

This is the epitome of stupid post.

Enough of the cheater ********. It's stupid. If we want to get into name calling we can bring the entire board down. Schilling's a crybaby (Game 1 ALCS), Varitek's a pussy (only fights with gear on), Millar and Damon are attention whores (I'm just illustrating a point). Or we can have an actual discussion about why a player is more qualified than another for MVP, as the thread's brings up. Don't let stupid name calling take away from the discussion. One person makes a stupid comment, and everyone thinks it is open season.

The 'slap' play has nothing to do with his candidacy now, and he's still the Most Valuable Player in the American League for 2005.

hmmm... what does that tell me? That tells me the yankees suck, and the world knows it.

yeah I watch all the games even still look at his fielding %. lemme guess, outfield assists are overrated, right???

They're overrated, but take into account where he plays. Visiting players always try to stretch a single into a double there thinking a ball off the wall is an automatic double. It's not that hard to throw them out. Sorry, just because he leads the league in outfield assists does not make him the best left fielder in the game, or anywhere close to it.

If you watch Manny play on a regular basis, you'll notice that he makes as many spectacular defensive plays as his "Manny moments". I feel that the "Manny moments" are shown more because they are often pretty ridiculous and way out of the ordinary. But often when he drops them he is able to recover and throw the guys out at 2nd or 3rd (as he did with Cano earlier this year).

And let me ask you this...HOW MUCH OF THE PAGE TWO STUFF IS SHOWN ON TV??? OH...wait NONE! Harold Reynolds (the driver of the media Yankee bandwagon), Karl Ravech (calls Gaimbi "Giambino" and Tino Martinez "Bam-Tino"), Jeff Brantley (Talking about "Ghosts at Yankee Stadium when Boston comes to play" last year)...DO I NEED TO GO ON??? Please tell me one person (or writer) who actually HATES on the Yankees, and their stuff ACTUALLY is aried on ESPN.

the only red sox fan on ESPN is gammons, other than that give me one.

Since espn is anti-yankee, the yankee's suck? I don't get your logic but whatever you can do to have yankees and suck in the same post I guess. And don't even deny they're anti-yankee. I watch NESN II at least 6 hours a day. Things I've noticed:

-when the yankees lose, they're highlites come up first(most of the time)

-when they win, towards the middle of the show

-when talking about a player in the AL, they always show him getting a hit off a yankee or striking out a yankee

-Peter Gammons works for ESPN

He calls them that when they hit a homer. Come on this isn't that hard. Harold is not a yankee fan, he's actually I don't know, unbiased. But you guys think that since once in awhile he says the yanks will win, he is. PAge 2 is part of ESPN is you didn't know whether it's aired or not.

we're talking on-air personalities here.

Yeah but hes less baised than the guys I listed

LOL!!! Picks ortiz to win the derby, sox to win the AL east and the Guardians to win the wild card. Do you watch ESPN at all?

Posted

It doesn't matter. It's still ESPN. I don't know why you're arguing this. It's pretty much a known fact that ESPN is anti-yankee. Most people root against the yankees, so of course they're going to cater to that.

Posted
those are all logical picks, is it out of the question the sox will win the east, and ortiz would win the derby, and the Guardians are in the thick of the WC race, those all seem like logical picks to me.

Yes, because ESPN is anti-yankee, the yankees suck. It's just normal media logic. People love to see things they hate, thats why on the national news all you hear about is iraq, car accidents, people dieng, you know, the bad stuff. No one wants to watch poeple being nice, going around giving candy to kids at a retard center, or doing community service, or hear a 5 minute news report about a guy who donated money to cancer funds. SAme with ESPN. People hate the yankees, therefore they hate to see the yankees win. If people hate to see the yankees win, ESPN will lean that way and be anti yankee and show yankee loses first. If the sox become hated you would see the same. Anti red sox programs, yankee glorifying episodes of baseball tonight, etc.

Yes, outfield assists are overrated. Kevin Mench has the same number of assists as Vlad Guerrero, and Vlad definitely has a better arm. People don't run on Vlad because he is respected. It's like football where you just don't throw near a great D-Back. He may not have a lot of picks, but he affects the game.

Oh yeah by the way, Ramirez' FP ranks next to last among qualified AL Leftfielders. Rodriguez' FP ranks him 3rd among AL third basemen.

Admitting it without saying it I guess, LOL.

But Harold Reynolds, thats a joke, the only time he gives the Red Sox props is when the Yankees are TOTALLY out of it. Oh, and he thinks RIVERA is the Cy Young...please.

You still need an accurate arm though. You see all these guys throwing wild in the game today even with plenty of time to get the guy out (like Long did today). I have rarely seen Manny be inaccurate on his throws this year, and that is a part of defense. He also makes a fair amount of assists on the road as well. My computer is slow as Millar right now though so I can't find the exact number but if I ever find it I'll post it.

I'm glad you admit they're anti-yankee. It's just the truth.

1-when the yankees lose, they're highlites come up first(most of the time)

2-when they win, towards the middle of the show

-Peter Gammons works for ESPN

1-People get a kick out of watching a train wreck, and spending >200M$ and potentially not making the playoffs is a train wreck in slow motion.

2-It's not news when the team that spends 67% more than the next highest team wins. That is, unless it is in dramatic fashion, and when it is they tend to be in the first segment.

3-The Yankees are most storied and recognizable franchise in MLB history, so expect to see them in player spotlights.

why couldn't he when he had an ERA below 1? Tell me, does reynolds have season tickets to the yankees games? No. Peter gammons is a sox fan. He is the most biased person on there. You just think that since one person is willing to go against the grain and give the yankees credit, he's a yankee fan.

Posted
Yeah, i admit it. It's obvious. It's also obvious that most people have gotten off the bandwagon in 2001, and most people now dislike the yankees and regard them as a mediocre team for a team with such a high payroll. They are regarded as *******s among most people now.

Exactly. Anti-yankee. People want to see this, so ESPN lets them. ESPN is anti-yankee.
