    I remember a couple of people complaining about his use of the 'f' word. Such a great speech. Short and sweet, and he said exactly what needed to be said.

    IRT Anthony, he might have the skills to bat him anywhere. I wouldn't be shocked if he was our best OBP guy, arguing top of the order, or our best HR hitter, arguing for #3/4.

    And fairly meaningless, imho. Kimmi knows the numbers better than I do, but my recollection is batting order is fairly meaningless I think breaking up the lefties might've have shown the biggest impact. Since every team is different, every BOP will be different. Most of our players don't add many differentiating skills. These conjectures work better when you have a .375 OBP/45 SB guys, or a 45-HR threat. Most of guys are a little better/worse at certain areas, but not enough to make a serious impact on BOP.

    This worked out a heck of a better than I expected. So many called strikes were upheld, when the pitch caught an inch of the plate, sometimes less. No doubt the umps will occasionally miss badly, but I was impressed all-around. The winners will be the physics majors (earning minimum wage) that will develop a hierarchy of when to challenge.

    Maybe, but maybe not. There is a development process involved. Otherwise, the elite athletes would go from HS to the majors. Also, while it doesn't matter to KC, you should try to get a players best 6 years. Teams like the Angels promote guys that aren't ready, and waste 3 service years hoping they adapt.

    I've never seen anything like that and probably not even close. Pitches that should be automatic balls became HRs. Still, he knew he had to go with the pitch. I use to watch guys like Chavis step in the bucket trying to pull pitches three inches outside.

    I will have tears of joy if he starts taking outside pitches, or going the other way. Along with Boggs, guys like Carew and Mattingly were geniuses. You would barely see them move, and sweetly flap the ball down the LF line. Even when rooting against them, it was beautiful to watch.

    This is going to be fun. There are going to be guys challenging in the first inning with an 0-2 count, no one on base, and two outs. They'll be guys challenging on obvious strikes. And I can't wait to see what the final umpire count is. Some umps will be 0-6 on opening day. Some will be 4-4.

    Some of us think of these things as assets. More assets are always better.

    Mine was a hypothetical as well. But if I were a manager, I'd be fining a pitcher for throwing anything near the heart of the plate for the first 2-3 pitches. For comparison purposes, Story got to a 3-0 count 5x, and Duran had 14. Story got to 3-1 14x and Duran 37x.

    Some fans need to get use to the concept that, like every baseball (and non-baseball) move, some will work out, and some won't. With this morning's story about PCA getting extended, I just cannot imagine what some RS fans would think about PCA having about a .550 OPS after his first 100 games. They'd have been crying non-stop about losing Javier Baez.

    People's memories are designed to remember only what they want to remember. Accuracy only impedes that.

    If he lights up Woo, then the RS will figure out where to play him. We were already looking at possible trades of Duran and probably Abreu. If KC does well, we'll see additional talks next winter.

    IMO, this is the first question behind every trade, both in BB and in real life. When you acquire a guy like Crochet, you understand exactly why the WS are trading him. I understood exactly why StL was trading Gray and Contreras.

    For all the talk about Oviedo, Bello and Early, and who's ready, part of me says (based on SSS ST and 2025), that Early has earned a starting gig, and it is up to the others prove themselves.

    The 1.015 includes a .517 BABIP. The more I see of Story, the more I see a HOF player that has trouble laying off a variety of bad pitches. With a 176/33 K/W, why do pitchers even throw strikes to him?

    Same as always. If we don't make a move, fans will ask why we didn't trade a stiff like Tibbs for an SP. The most important and popular RS player will always be the guy that we just traded away. And, FWIW, the 20 Ks in 45 ABs still seem really high.

    I like Samaniego over Watson, but given the options, maybe???

    That might be of interest to fantasy players. #6 in the lineup with some decent hitting in front of him. BOP counts for something.
