    IIRC, it was a HBP, a walk, a sac, and a WP & PB that led to two runs. That's the sort of funny stuff that goes your way when you're running well.

    If someone wanted a one-year 2B or SS, I wouldn't say no. But all the thoughts about acquiring a SS, so that they can move him to 2b, because they aren't really a SS, doesn't strike me as intuitive.

    That's probably the way 99% of the fans feel. I wouldn't trade Arias for Abrams, Neto, Pena or Goodman. But I wouldn't be offended. And if Yordie was available, I'd drive him to Houston myself.

    I've seen young teams come and go without ever jelling. This really looks like a real team. I can see a few holes, but I don't want to mess with the chemistry.

    We got a few things. Someone with an initial arm ailment which might have been foreseeable. Someone who hurt himself diving for a GB, which is unforeseeable. And someone who turned 33, seemingly a death knell for players, with all due respect to our fans who want to sign 32 year old players to long-term contracts.

    The fun part about fans' adamancy in general is that half of us a bat, half want a pitcher, some want a 2B, some a SS, and some a LF. And some want a lefty and some want a righty. I'm will to wait to see what happens and how it works out.

    It's impossible to know what makes sense without knowing their game plan. They might be satisfied with Seigler. They might be planning on a RH LF/DH, moving Romy back to 2B. They might not believe in Garcia. Before this year, Garcia had a .709 OPS with very little variance. Maybe he's broken out, maybe not. His production has flatted out over his last 17 games. Maybe his .414 OPS at the Fens concerns them.

    Just me looking at the minutiae: Garcia is no longer a capable 2B. If the NYY move Jazz to 3B to accommodate Garcia, it'll be interesting. Garcia has only 1.3 years left, while 4.3 years left. The RS likely have an opinion on Early that suggests some issues. I had recommended trading him last year since his production out-paced his previous profile..

    Some RS fans change their opinions all the time. When a guy has a 3.0 bWAR in his first full season, you should be encouraged, not discouraged.

    That's all that counts. Everyone seems to like Eyanson, but it's possible that the Tigers far prefer the LA guys. Sometimes we get too deep into the weeds.

    Except that Ceddanne was a good players two years ago, and a very good last year.

    Anyone that thinks a 4.9 bWAR is 'screwing up' doesn't know enough about baseball to warrant a discussion. He's the 2nd best CF in BB over the past two seasons.

    That's the whole thing. We can weigh in, but GMs are using the best scouts in the world. We don't know what they are looking at and what they value. And a falling #75 might be a #150, and a rising #150 might be more like a #75.

    Fred lays out all his opinions so he can claim he is right, no matter what happens. He doesn't really have opinions as such.

    Again, baseball is a game of wild variance, and some fans just look at short-term results. 110 games into the season, and we are roughly exactly where we should be. And some guys will out-perform and some will under-perform.

    This is borderline superstition on my part, but the Raleigh collapse always pops up in the back of my mind.

    If Rutschman was healthy, and I got 1.2 seasons from him, maybe, if I thought it wouldn't affect the staff. Of if he was hurt, but I got two seasons from him, sure. That said, BA is only 1.5 back from the WC.

    I wouldn't overdo it with Chapman. I'd go Guerrero plus the 3 Ws and hope for the best.
