    It wasn't a complicated question. Breslow made 5 major moves (Gray, Suarez, Bennett, Contreras, Durbin). Explain which ones you don't like.

    When I was a kid, the ASG was one of the highlights of the season. Now I don't even watch it. Leaving Sanchez off the team last year was beyond ridiculous. It's turned into the NFL AP game.

    I agree. I normally pay almost no attention to late-bloomers, but the guy was a 1st rounder. After the two losses to the Nats, I'm not sure there is much downside (or choice) to giving him another month or two.

    So the big bats were Bregman's 7 HRs instead of Durbin's 7 HRs, Bichette's .678 OPS, and Alonso's 1.9 bWAR instead of Contreras' 3.2 bWAR?

    I had that in the back of my mind. If you're watching his innings, this is as good a time as any to sit him for two weeks. And you have two days off between now and the AS break. It might make some sense to juggle the rotation to give Tolle and/or Bennett a day off.

    I hold very few things more important than BB, but when someone calls you 'boy', they have to get their a$$ kicked. And if you think it's being orchestrated, and not just a heat of the battle thing, then you retaliate. You might be able to get Contreras tossed from the game, but I can send your best hitter home with sore ribs. And I would do it every, single time, until the BS stopped.

    A lot of dudes standing between him and Cavalli, while Cavalli stood there egging him on, but not putting much effort into getting any closer to Contreras. I think you should cut him a break. He should've beaten the crap out of him, but he's otherwise had a very good season.

    Meh, I am not a big believer in 'incumbency'. I had no problem with giving Devers 3-4 years to prove himself at 3B, or at least improve, but he never did. And he didn't inspire me with his conditioning. He lost the job fair and square.

    I think it is safe to say, at least thru today, this was a terrific move by the RS.

    Or, and I could be wrong, IMVHO, Devers always showed a lot of potential at 3rd. I've seen him make plays that half the league wouldn't get to, only to botch a routine play. I'm guessing that, at least for the first few years, the FO hoped for more consistency, and/or better conditioning.

    It's is kind of a big deal. At the TDL, it would've made more sense to value Duran closer to his 9.0 bWAR. By the end of the season, even a 4.9 would seem slightly optimistic. But I don't really believe Passan anyway.

    I saw someone hit a hard one-hopped past him that he never reacted to. I've never seen that. It was like he never even saw the ball.

    That's not indecision, because swings aren't really a conscious decision. It's not like he is deciding between two different entrees.

    No doubt it's gone down. But I only consider values at the time trades were being discussed.

    Fred hated Theo with a passion, and most of the world will acknowledge that Theo was the best GM in the history of baseball.

    I know that Cavalli can be tough, but Narvaez struck out on a pitch that was going to hit him in the face. Contreras struck out on three pitches outside the strike zone, and Abreu just K'd on a pitch where the catcher had to throw him out at 1st.

    No. I think they will ask for Tolle, and that is certainly understandable.

    You understand correctly. Here is my philosophy: Every time we win a game, my asking price for tanking goes up. Every time we lose a game, my tanking price goes down. Theoretically, almost every contending team has such a number in mind. It might also affect how deep in the pool you want to dive. Today, I'd be happy with another 'okay bat'. But if we take 12 of the next 18, I might be looking to move some serious prospects. Or if we win 12-18, and Crochet is coming back on 8/1, I'd be even more aggressive. A little bit of the butterfly affect.

    I agree with that. Devers only saving grace at 3B is that he is surprisingly athletic for someone in his condition. I thought he'd be a disaster at 1st. And while it is not a cardinal rule for me, my solution to the need for a 1B would be to get a 1B. Passing on Naylor, imo, was really bad.

    That's part of keeping Duran. IMO, he is and probably will be a better DH than Yoshida. But he also provides really good insurance had any of the three regular OFs gotten hurt.

    Same as in real life. I am usually a collaborative type of guy. But sometimes a yes/no is a better answer than 'what do you think?'. Like I said, I understand Devers position, even if I would've just grabbed the 1B mitt. But that doesn't mean that Breslow made a bad call.
