  1. Things come back around if you wait long enough. Even bell-bottoms.
  2. Why not? Toro/Romy platoon at 1B. Refsnyder/Duran platoon at DH
  3. You guys should keep arguing because in my eyes , you two both make good points often on here, and I often confuse you two because both one syllable names beginning with an H (apologies). And you guys debating directly w each other, Im hopeful, will help me distinguish going forward. You are both good posters , so I try to individualize but for some reason, i struggle to not mix you two up. You both prob dont want to hear that in the middle of a debate with each other (dont confuse me with THAT guy"). Apologies for that too.
  4. And Im not sure that our game 2 starter wont be Crochets right arm.
  5. Yeah, fine, but dont act like Im stretching/reaching or just making a general optimistic/rosy outlook without anything else. If Crochet is healthy AND we make the playoffs, we are dangerous. He is the best pitcher in the AL, and the second best one is out for the year. Yes, he will start every third game. NOw if you dont think he'll end the year healthy, fine. But Im saying we ARE better build for the playoffs than the reg season. Because rotations shorten. We're top heavy.
  6. I know its been a while since we were in the playoffs, but.... sorry for the snark. Crochet will pitch games 1,4,7 in world series and maybe even make a bp appearance as well.
  7. Im not counting it out. And hes closing the other 4
  8. Its possible that every team in the playoffs besides us has their top 3 pitchers on the IL. Dodgers did last year, Yankees do already this year. If Crochet is still standing (knock on wood) , I honestly believe that Crochet + nobody else may be the best pitching staff in the playoffs. One way to get better is to have all the competition get hurt.
  9. It will depend a lot on the days-off schedule. But playoffs are less about pitching depth, its about your best pitcher. Crochet will start 3/7 games and come out of the pen in a fourth.
  10. I use to not know where anybody went to college. Now-a-days dudes are graduating from universities already well-knowns
  11. That list is growing though. College baseball is better than its ever been. Because you make more in college these days then in the minor legues. Dudes are going to and staying in college longer. Still impressive but pre-NIL history doesnt matter in this case anymore cuz so much has changed with NIL.
  12. Didnt you literally just propose trading for Spencer Steer
  13. From Devers? Yes. From Eddie Guerrero? No (I wore a "Latino Heat" shirt to Raw in Providence on Monday)
  14. The sox may be contenders in 25 on the back of Crochet.
  15. I like this Gio talk, I think myself (dont want to speak for others but dont think Im alone) werent interested enough in Pivetta. Something about hes been here and we've seen his ups/downs and the fact that the team didnt go particularly far when he was here, so we wanted an infusion of new talent. ANd those sentiments are natural, but I think it caused me personally to underrate his value. The past is the past. Gios lost year is behind us, like Pivettas pre-breakout mediocrity (forgive me for using the term breakout, which might not be 100% deserved, but I do feel like pivetta went from mediocre (average #4) to solid (good #3) at some point within last 2-3 years.
  16. Very small percentage chance , he takes it. What he might do is a sign a fresh 19m/yr contract with incentives w a player only option the following year. Mutual options are pointless (w rare exception)
  17. advising his client to do what is in his clients best interest is not nonsense.
  18. I do appreciate your mentality. I dont jump for joy when a player gets trapped into such a team friendly deal that hes just trapped for life (get scottie pippen'd). But I guess I do lvoe me a contract that works for both sides (even if its slightly more favorable to the team than the player, but key word is slightly) Hey look Kimmi, looks like you dont exclusively root for "the laundry" (which you shouldnt and you dont).
  19. Agreed, but mutual options are so rarely executed. Hes not coming back next year on 1 yrs at 19. Well he might but it wont be because the mutual option was triggered, it will be fresh contract.
  20. Thats bad agent letting that happen. Id go scorched earth.
  21. Ill take it though. It was well south of 33.6 10 games ago.
  22. I almost fought that dude once (lead singer of the flavor of the week song, American Hi-Fi I think the band was called) Her boyfriend He dont know Anything, about her
