  1. But there is one thing I can do about it. Shame the fans of JH's wallet.
  2. I shouldnt have responded to your post with my rant, as it appears it was directed at you and that wasnt my intent.
  3. The problem with baseball the world is that there are too many people carrying so much water for billionaires because they were tricked into thinking that if they think like an exploiter, they'll magically jump classes or that some online billionaire is going to discover them and be like "wow, you think like us" and their lives will be transformed. If you sell out to these billionaires, on the off-chance that you get noticed, you'll get a head pat at best. They wont even let you lick their dirty napkin.
  4. Can we count Big Sexsie twice?
  5. HOnestly, Henry and the entire ownersip group doesnt bother me as much as those making excuses for them. Stop making excuses for billionaire hoarders. THey arent going to see your post and welcome you to the club. STOP LICKING BOOTS Thats all i ask
  6. I agree with this. I read all the nonsense and its obvious nonsense. I do not think they are punishing us or using us as a vehicle to fund other investments or anything like that. What I do think - is that theyve spread themselves too thin, and dont put as much time and passion into the red sox project as its now one of many, and im not sure you can keep up with the dodgers with this approach. But what bothers me more than the frugality is the lazinessssss. You cant tell me they are actually trying when they looked at verdugo like 4 years in a row and said yep - we're good here. Theres just no compete. Bloom was the anti-urgent. He wasnt all bad , but he was patient to a fault. And Breslow has botched 2 deadlines with a simlar low effort approach.
  7. Youve been making great points for weeks, heres some things I would add to your points (in agreement) ... 1. Does Boston the city of Boston, us, not deserve to be on the same playing field with LA, NY, Philly....we are NOT Tampa, we are not Oklahoma city or Kansas. LA , NY , CH all get 2 teams, you could argue we are the biggest US metropolitan area with 1 city. Why do we allow cheap owners to get us to believe that we should celebrate their bank accounts? 2. Frankly, Im happy with anybody who is not JH getting JH's money. He has TOO MUCH. Id rather some young guy get a large piece of JHs GIGANTIC fortune. Share the wealth. I hope he gets all the speeding tickets. 3. I assure you, JH is not breaking even. Hes profitable. Generally , when greedy ownership sucks all the resources out of a business and doesnt invest back in, we look at that negatively. But baseball owners manipulate us into believing that we are part of the "house" or the "club". We are not. And it does not help any of our lives one bit that Red Sox in recent years need to shed money to spend money. 4. They can tell you that being at a financial disadvantage isnt as much of a disadvantage as it is. But the gap is only widening. We now have for 2 years running , the last 2 teams standing are high payroll teams. The Rays are under .500 in recent years. Their glory years resulted in 0 championships in 30 years but they would get a playoff experience here and there, and those were the good years. Look at Pitt, Cincy. These teams have to struggle for YEARS to get a small window when maybe things time well and you have a few good prospects coming of age at the same time. But the clocks moves so fast on them. And you are flipping them because they are going to get expensive soon, when it feels like just yesterday they were the young up and comers and you were like finally , someone breaks out young enough for us to have some control. Its all manipulation, its all propoganda. DOnt root for bank accounts.
  8. You know why. Because they overrate our own guys. THey wanna see mayer and campbell and casas and all the returning guys and nobody gets squeezed because everything is viewed through a homers lens. But Im here to tell yall that Verdugo always s*cked. ALways.
  9. when lad is spending like lad that kind of throws a wrench into your plans on being able to compete without matching. Why go in with such a disadvantage? Do you get a piece of the profit share?
  10. Verdugo was TRASH. And every year half my friends were like "he's solid" the same dudes who when the red sox make a trade they gasp "oh no, what did we give up?" the same dudes who think we are going to win the ws every year because they overrate all our own guys. The dudes who told me that Turner wouldnt opt out, that james paxton and rich hill were good acquistions, that you dont need to buy at the deadline, that "we'll be alright". That the celtics should have kept robert williams. That the patriots should have kept Mac jones. The dudes saying avoid free agents. You got what you wanted. It was called the bloom years.
  11. Are we even sure the dodgers and the mets and the yankees lost significant money last year? Because if they are close to breaking even, they are the middle ground.
  12. A bunch of cheapskate billionaires have manipulated you into believing that spending doesnt really help your chances all that much and I hope the dodgers keep winning until you realize youve been had. For your own sake.
  13. I honestly dont care if we win or lose. But rolling over the same mediocre roster every year is booooorrrrriiiinngggg and intellectually lazy. I care that they try. Try to give me an entertaining product. And rolling forward dudes just because they are here aint it. And wanting home-grown and cheap is just propoganda. Its a puzzle. And just promoting internally isnt trying to solve it. This team does not yet deserve to be forgiven for going with verdugo year after year.
  14. necessary for what?
  15. the small market model is a sinking ship, and the blame should be on the cheapskates not the LAD or TOR or NYY investing in trying to win. I always root big market over small market. If a team with a middling payroll wins one ws then people will just go right back to it and ignore that the other 9 came from spenders.
  16. Breslows ego took that from you
  17. We didnt sign Bregman. Fans dont want to hear this - but I tried very hard! But we are going to be buyers at the deadline, and we are going to win more games than we otherwise would have, had he signed. But negotations were abruptly cut short when he told me I was an (checks notes) f'ing stiff and he would be willing to take significant less money to just never haven to listen to my punchable face ever again. Aint I great? - Stiffslow
  18. 1 playoff win in how many years now?
  19. I happened to be watching MNF at the moment the go-ahead Toronto HR was hit. The MNF games was in seattle and you just hear this collective groan/sigh. I def felt for em. Sorry Harmony , but I hope you got good enjoyment out of the season! I always fall back to - dont forget the point is fun. And if you are having fun, if the team is bringing you joy, thats most important. So to me, I really enjoyed the three game series with the yankees that we had. ANd that made the entire a success because the 2025 red sox gave us a very fun playoff series. I watched the first game with my friend joey, and we were high fiving and having beers, and all that. I watched the second game at home, but I was on the edge of my seat all game. A different friend came over. I watched game 3 at a bar with 2 uncles. That game was the weakest of the three, but it gave my uncle who is the biggest sox fan i know a reason to come in from nj and watch the game with his favorite nephew :)
  20. Get Paredes and Lodolo in a 3 teamer for Duran?
  21. Hamilton cant play SS? You are sure? (genuine question, not a challenge)
  22. Mentions pull % within first 3 posts, like that.
  23. Come see the Red Sox! We were almost 10th in payroll* *insert convenient excuse about having to salary dumped our best hitter!
  24. RA hitting in front of Alonzo and Crochet-Lodolo at the top of a rotation is a great start (note you may want to put a righty in between the two lefty starters, if teams still do that , but I dont think rotation order means much).
