  1. Injuries are always a wild card for every player.
  2. Excellent trade by bres-slow. Wow!!!
  3. What is the ceiling for a guy like hicks in 2026??
  4. I know I am the minority here, but I have watched Mayer for parts of 3 seasons in the minors and this kid has future superstar written all over him, when he figures out the hitting! Add yo that, his defense is above average. if he can hit decently in the first part of the season while he learns major league pitching, his second half could show hints of how elite he can be. I am betting he puts it almost together by the end of the year
  5. That is fair. I base my expectation on the fact that he has only about 200 at bats at triple A and his last 60 at bats looked pretty good! if he picks up from that last 60 level and then raises his game, then he will force his way to Boston! they will always find room for a bat!! but you are right, that is a big “if”!! I am excited to see how it plays out for Romero in 2026!!!
  6. Roster construction looks a lot better and balanced if Campbell can play a decent 2nd base and if he, Mayer, Anthony and narveaz can all hit to their potential!!
  7. I hope Romero starts the year at Worcester, but I am hopeful that his hitting forces the Sox to have to consider him in Boston this year.
  8. 3 time batting champ. For us Campbell reportedly been in fort Myers working as a 2nd baseman this off season.
  9. I cannot see any team being even remotely interested in trading for either hicks or yoshida. Regardless of how much money we send with them.
  10. Some of the writers think bres-slow uses spring training to audition Sandoval to the other teams
  11. I know I am in the minority here, but the Yankees look very very strong to me. Health permitting!!
  12. Does yoshida have minor league options? also “the Fenway flu” has been known to last for more than 60 days!!
  13. Take one of the top two from any team and you get the same result. I think we are still competitive because Bres-slow has built a lot of depth! I think the minor leagues needs more position depth! Maybe bres-slow addresses that in the draft. Much like the previous few years, someone decent (position player) will fall to us unexpectedly in this draft.
  14. Or bres-slow is waiting to see if we have any injuries lingering or other teams have injured players that creates a demand for yoshida or hicks or Sandoval!!! I like our team as is and think we can win 90 games this year as is!!
  15. Assuming our starting rotation is 1.) LHP crochet 2.) LHP suarez 3.) RHP gray 4.) RHP bello 5.) RHP Oviedo I think the bullpen will be: 1.) LHP Chapman 2.) RHP Whitlock 3.) RHP slaten 4.) RHP weissert 5.) RHP Crawford 6.) LHP Sandoval 7.) LHP Harrison 8.) RHP hicks - houck to the 60 DL - Watson sent back via rule 5 - Moran exposed to waiver, when he passes through unclaimed, he goes to Worcester - tolle and early and Kelly and Sandlin and Bennett to Worcester. - drohan and uberstine hopefully to Worcester as well. -sanmaneigo to Portland
  16. Barring any unknown injuries (aka cutter from last season) this team is already a 90 win team from the improvement in the rotation exceeding any and all losses throughout the entire roster. two things to consider: 1.) health, always a wild card and we have banana boy story at shortstop. And with 13 arms on the team, the law of averages says 2-3 have will miss significant time! 2.) Mayer, Anthony, narveaz and Wong should all see improvements on the 2025 numbers. 3.) rotation depth. Criswell, Fitts are gone. Early and Tolle will be ready at some point if anybody gets hurt. And cutter says he is healthy for the start of 2026!
  17. Drafting is a solution, four years down the road. He did nothing to address the present dumpster fire infield defense situation! we led the American League in errors how many years in a row? how many extra pitches did our pitchers throw because of infield ineptitude ??
  18. For all the great things hang’em Chaim did as far as minor league hitting drafting and development and hitting talent acquisition! It still boggles my mind that he did not place any value on defense or quality pitching. Instead he chose to claim every reclamation project that hit the waiver wire
  19. Kansas City would not part with ragans for Duran. the dodgers would not part with a package of pitching prospects plus included rushing for abreau. Arizona wanted Mayer and tolle for Marte and bres-slow would not do it!
  20. But looking on the plus side. We have so much more depth across the entire pitching staff at Boston, Worcester and even Portland than I can ever remember!! I tip my cap to the tremendous job bres-slow has done building this up!
  21. I think this is right. The reporters said teams called about Mayer, Abreau and Duran. Yet bres-slow did not move any of them.
  22. Is houck included in the several pitchers line? I think he should be included since he is not back in 2026!
  23. Peralta to the Mets for sproat and Williams. Wow!!!
  24. Paredes has negative 3 drs in 2025 I think. We have been moving the defensive dumpster fires out of town. is he really a fit for us?
