  1. As of right now: Anthony - outfield - plays LHP and RHP - above average defense in LF and RF rafeala - outfield - plays LHP and RHP - gold glove center fielder. Abreu - outfield - plays RHP - gold glove right fielder duran - outfield - plays RHP and maybe LHP - decent centerfield and dumpster fire in left field Contreras - 1B (3rd catcher) - plays LHP and RHP - average defense Hamilton - 2B (backup SS and 3rd base) - plays RHP - below average defense Romy - 2B (backup 1B, 3B and SS) - plays LHP - below average to average defense. story - SS (backup 2B) - plays LHP and RHP - below average defense. mayer - 3B (backup 2B and SS) - plays RHP and maybe LHP - average to above average defense narveaz - catcher - plays LHP and RHP rafeala- above average defense Wong - catcher (backup 1B) plays LHP and RHP - average defense sogard - (backup everywhere except catcher) plays LHP and RHP - average defense yoshida - DH - plays RHP and maybe LHP - dumpster fire defender ( starts the year on the DL and moves to Worcester.) defense is improved versus last year. Offense is definitely less than last year, but could it closer with the development of Mayer, Anthony and narveaz
  2. We shall see if arias bat develops. He has a lot of rafeala in him! But a bit more selective. He will probably start the year at Portland and lead off. (I hope they let him run more this year too) but arias glove is light years ahead of story or Mayer or anybody else in the system above the Florida league as of today!! Dude is amazing at getting to balls story could only dream about reaching
  3. In a perfect world, Mayer would spend his career at 3b and work with the Sox to get a little more strength in the throwing arm!! I would hope arias is able to step in and take over short stop after story, that kid is the best defensive short stop we have in the system that I have seen play. I hope romy is working hard and ready to go come April, he has a huge opportunity in front of him if he can produce! I think the last non minor move of the off season is figuring out how to get Suarez on the 40 man roster! Do they send Jovani away? Do they make some sort of trade?
  4. I agree 100 percent. I like our roster as is for 2026!
  5. Seems to me the Mets are in the same position as Houston as well!
  6. One player has to leave the 40 man to accommodate Suarez! i personally love the Suarez signing. Better signing than any bat that was available
  7. So Houston trades 3 players to get back a player they traded to us??
  8. This is an incredible triple a staff right here! Best I can remember for Boston in a long time!! I applaud bres-slow on this
  9. I think it was reported that we signed 20 international free agents today! Let’s hope for a gem or two from this class!!!!
  10. The dodgers have tried to trade for abreau all offseason!! I applaud bres-slow for not trading any of our outfielders. with the Suarez signing, someone from our 40 man roster has to leave!! Goodbye Jovani??
  11. Let’s look at the crochet trade for all 3 gm’s 1.) desperate Dave could not have made the crochet trade because his farm system was a barren waste land!!! 2.) hang’em Chaim would not have made that trade because he overvalues prospects and has something against high end pitching!!! 3.) only bres-slow had the guts to risk such quality and quantity on a pitcher. I believe that because bres-slow was a former pitcher, he saw something in crochet that told him this guy was special!!
  12. Crochet, Suarez and bello are all signed through at least 2029! gray is signed through 2026. Maybe he is replaced in 2027 by houck? Or maybe early! oviedo signed through 2027. Maybe he replaced by whoever is left over from houck or early. Or maybe Tolle or Harrison! either way, our rotation is very deep and very talented! game 1 - crochet game 2 - Suarez Game 3 - gray i really like our chances in the post season
  13. I just heard from wfan that Crawford’s wrist injury is really serious and he probably starts the year on the DL!
  14. Someone recommended Duran and Tolle for Marte and an Arizona top 15 prospect !!! I cannot see it. What do you think???
  15. Who are your bottom 5 on the 40 man roster?
  16. 40 man roster now stands at 41! goodbye Jovani?? or a trade?? The dodgers really like abreau and have tons of prospects
  17. Realistically, how much demand could there be for bello??
  18. This is a much better use of our money than a position player! slide him in behind crochet and now our rotation is much stronger!!
  19. The dodgers pick a lane! Build a superior scouting and minor league developmental juggernaut
  20. The dodgers win because they have the best scouting and league development system in baseball!!! the money allows them to retain the players they want, sign players they want in order to fill development holes! I truly felt hang’em Chaim was building that for us! But his strategy and vision were narrow. He over drafted middle infielders and he totally ignored pitchers, unless they went through waivers first!! bres-slow is even harder to figure out. He never truly picks a lane! Is he a total salary dump guy? No. Is he a development guy? No! why does bres-slow trade dobbins and fitts for gray (1 year of control) and Contreras (2 years of control)! Short term strategy and a waste of assets!! Bres-slow appears to be playing whack a mole (being reactionary) when he should be demonstrating and sticking with a long term strategy and vision designed to deliver consistent annual results!!!
  21. Arenado traded to Arizona! is something brewing on the dessert!
  22. Catcher is still a woefully thin position group for us! the dodgers really want abreau from us! They have dalton and tons of pitching
  23. Yes! Filling the Grand Canyon size hole at the number 2 spot in the rotation should be our first priority!! the sox were willing to go up to 165 million for Bregman, we have budget for gallen or framber! If bres-slow deems them good enough for the number 2 spot in the rotation! in addition: Moving Sandoval (provider he is healthy) to the bullpen solves our need yo acquire another lefty reliever!! Keeping Harrison in the bullpen also eliminates the need for us to keep Jovani on the 40 man!
  24. What do we do if narveaz is not ready for the start of the regular season? His surgery is such that he is not allowed to participate in the wbc! Do we have another catcher on the 40 man beside wong? (Who also has wrist surgery this offseason!)
  25. If we assume the Phillies sign bichete, does that open an opportunity for us to trade with desperate Dave?? I would be willing to take painter and brohm off his hands!!!
