Jared jones of Pittsburgh may have damaged his UCL!!! I really wanted us to trade for him this offseason. Hats off to Bres-slow made the right decision!!!!!
I know spring training games should be taken with a grain of salt, but Mayer has clearly demonstrated he is the best offensive and defensive option available to us at 2B!
The three items against him are no time in triple A, injury history and he is not on the 40 man roster yet!!!!
I do not think the Sox get go wrong regardless of whether they keep Mayer on the 26 or send him down to Worcester
Rafeala has looked much better at the plate. He is laying off low pitches that he never would lay off before.
I truly hope he continues this in the regular season
I thought arias was the best defensive short stop I saw in the Red Sox system last year. This kid was amazing.
I do not know if the bat will work since he has a lot of rafeala in him.
I would not trade him either
I thought that last year, criswell threw less 4 seamers and stayed down more!!!
He throws something that looks like a splitter, but it is really inconsistent. If he masters it, that is a nice two strike pitch that can get hitters out
Mayer took the mize pitch for a triple. And he looked really good at second base too. This kid has had a really really good spring despite getting sick.
fulmer threw really well today. He impressed me today.
is Wilson throwing some form of cutter??? At first I thought it was a lame fastball, but now it looks like cutter or a bad splitter
I heard we tried to send yoshida and others to both Seattle and St. Louis.
the Atlanta sports radio guy said Colorado and San Diego called us about other players. But when we tried to include yoshida they backed out. However I have never heard anybody else report that about San Diego and Colorado
This spring, I think he has been putting together good at bats and if the pitcher misses, yoshida has been getting hits!!!
with the bat. He has impressed me this spring
I finally got to watch early pitch in a game. The stuff looked decent, when he finishes his pitches.
his stuff looked hittable when he did not finish his pitches.
I would need to see more to get a better handle on him.
Last year, slaten had a tough first outing in Seattle, then pitched lights out until he got hurt.
1.) is he healthy this year?
2.) can he regain his pre injury form?
Marchan is battling another catcher to be the backup in Philly, if bres-slow thinks Marchan is better than the current group we have for the backup catcher spot, I think it deserves a phone call!
I think story needs to own 2B sooner rather than later. We finally moved the dumpster fire off of 3B. We do not need a new dumpster fire at SS.
Mayer is coming soon, his defense at SS is not bad. Hopefully by June, Mayer forces us to promote him. In a perfect world he earns the promotion and there are no injuries
