I agree 100 percent. I was shocked teel fell to us. I was also shocked Montgomery fell to us. But just because we have a lot of middle infielders. I would not change from a best player available regardless of position approach.

I really like shortstop Steele hall in the first round. Super young, super fast (causes mass chaos on the base pads), contact hitter with some power, solid to above average defense!! I guess my draft preference is similar to hang’em Chaim.

Rotation is: 1.) crochet 2.) giolita 3.) bello 4.) dobbins 5.) Criswell ouch!!!! My 87 win prediction seems like a reach at this point

Baseball is a game of adjustments

Isn’t romy eligible to be activated next week?

How does Crawford go all offseason with a knee issue and not take care of it????
  7. Larry Cook
Maybe, that is a possibility! But the wide stance looks like someone that uses the trackjet pitching machines

He feels like a 2B, with little position flexibility. If he gets his numbers up. He would have serious value on the trade market. Plus we have a lot of middle infield depth

Last night abreau mistimed his leap had the ball hit off the heel of his glove and rafeala bare hand catches the ball!!! Crazy!!! Defense is important guys!!!

On base % = .300 and no walks in May!!!! what is our expert hitting coach telling him???

Maybe, his at bats looks better in the lead off spit. It looks to me like he still struggles with breaking balls and off speed stuff!

Can we please gives the kids a chance and put Duran and story out of our misery
  13. Larry Cook
Mayer with 39 rbi so far!!!
  14. Larry Cook
Burdi has looked decent at Worcester! Maybe we give him a shot. Whitlock is clearly struggling and we need a fresh arm!!

Portland is rained out again !! Wow!!!

I thought newcomb did an outstanding job of saving the bullpen by finishing this up. tomorrow is another day!!!! I am hopeful the hotel restaurant can give Duran and story food poisoning so we can call up Mayer and Anthony

Can we send houck to Worcester as per the CBA???
  18. Larry Cook
Granted. Development is still needed for Romero.

I agree 100 percent. I was hoping Grissom could play 2nd base and create some trade value for himself

More importantly, arias is starting to heat up in Greenville. We have so many intriguing middle infielders that aggressive promotions are going to get more difficult. I think Romero would be a better platoon guy than Hamilton is now.

Over the course of a 162 game season. Different position players contribute in different games. Some days player A has a great game, and some days player B has a great game. these Red Sox are so frustrating because it feels like unless Bregman, abreau or devers are hitting, the other 6 guys are just not capable of producing runs!!! Duran and story are very pedestrian and frustrating to watch!!!!!! First base and catcher have been a black hole almost all year. (Although narveaz has contributed a little) Campbell and rafeala are not getting any key hits. my point is, I would much rather Mayer and Anthony get at bats instead of Duran and story !!!! it is too much to ask that the pitching staff has to hold teams to 1 run for us to have a chance to win!!!!!

Early looked really good today! Best I have seen him throw in a while. Pitches were sharp and except for a little bit of wildness, generally around the strike zone!!!!
  23. Larry Cook
Rotation depth has been severely tested early. current rotation as follows; 1.) crochet - ace. 2.) giolita - dumpster fire. 3.) Houk - dumpster fire. 4.) bello - decent to above average. 5.) dobbins - rookie has impressed. reinforcements. buehler expected back by the end of the month. Ideally giolita gets sent to the bullpen and dobbins stays in the rotation. Newcomb gets sent to Worcester. fitts is due back by the end of the month. Ideally Fitts goes to the bullpen, at least until houck pitches his way out of the rotation!

Garcia with a walk off tater in the bottom of the 9th to win it for Portland!!!!
