  1. I believe that one day when the onion is peeled back, we will learn that Larry was pulling the strings on his puppet Ben from the day Theo left/Ben hired to the day Larry was fired. Everything from valentine to Sandoval smells of Larry.
  2. No doubt a lot of people on this board love pedroia, but we have to be realistic about what he is capable of doing over next several years, which is basically break down earlier and earlier every year. If we had passed on signing pedroia to a long term contract, betts would be playing 2nd, benintendi in right field and we probably have a power hitter in left field. Long term contracts, even with team friendly terms, rarely work for the team.
  3. If we had the guy who is currently coaching arizona as our bench coach, then replacing Farrell with him is a no brainer, but right now to change our Farrell as a scape goat is not smart and would once again prove dave has no plan, Farrell did not trade Shaw and go into this season relying on Pablo. Farrell did not replace Ortiz with another power hitter. Dave is a fireman and firemen are too busy reacting to crisis to think things through and develop a strategy. Scorched earth is not a strategy, just a recipe for disaster. And right now dave is scorching everything he can get his tal Myles's hands on. He has already annililated the farm system. The major team is probably next. Ps: Training refines talent, it does not create it, and sadly dave is not talented enough to do this job!
  4. Maybe, but let's face it. Pedroia at 90% is JAG. Therefore when the banana boy gets bruised, he needs to go to the dl and not try to play through these bruises, because he is hurting the team!
  5. The Houston series shows me that we are not healthy and beat up beyond belief.
  6. Next year we can not use pedroia in the field as much as normally. He is good for 60 games a year max! Another signing that Larry pushed down our throats that should not have happened.
  7. Yes! Absolutely. He is not capable of building a roster capable of winning a World Series. He got lucky in Florida, but now he is a has been without a plan. All he can do is destroy an organization from the inside out! Dynamic leaders attract the brightest and the best. Yet in our organization, they all fled the first chance they got.
  8. The last ten days have been brutal as far as our pitching goes. It would help if the zombies would hit. The lack of power on this team is not helping.
  9. Man! Sale Has no movement on the fastball, that he throws too much. Got to mix in more secondary pitches to keep hitters honest.
  10. A realistic view of 2017. This year definitely has to be considered a success as we have repeated as division champs, But does anybody else feel that anything short of a spot in the World Series is a bit of a let down?
  11. I guarantee someone will take a chance on Pablo next season. GM's alway think they can catch lightening in a bottle.
  12. Way back in the day someone told me Jim rice could hit a golf ball longer than most pros.
  13. You can't make this stuff up! Detroit should send him a gift basket and a box of chocolates.
  14. We won 93 games with our current strategy. Can they really just change it up at the drop of a hat? Our guys saw tons of good pitches to hit this season, but did not take advantage of it. Mookie alone, must have popped up at least a dozen pitches in 2017 that in 2016, he would have turned into Taters! Something was off this year with most of our guys. I think it was injuries. But confidence also seemed to be lacking. Can you fix that in 4 days? I don't think so.
  15. They have verlander and Dallas going against sale and Pomeranz. They have seen Pomeranz and we have not seen Dallas or verlander in this series. Number 3 for them will probably be peacock, seems like fister might be a better option for us.
  16. Do we have enough healthy bodies to do much pinch hitting?
  17. Farrell has overcome season ending injuries to several pitchers. He has overcome poor decisions by dombrowski, i.e. Trading Shaw and giving Pablo the starting 3rd base job. He has overcome an endless stream of walking wounded, pedroia, Hanley, boegarts, Moreland, Bradley, Nunez and price. He has overcome some head scratching under performers this year. Betts and porcello. He has overcome a lineup with a complete lack of power. And most important, he has overcome a Yankees team that has played over their head for almost the entire year. I don't know what else he could have done better this year, except maybe grab a bat and pencil himself into the lineup. Just think what he could have been if he had a decent GM to work with?
  18. Smith's arm looks a little tired. Pitches are less sharp.
  19. Devers swing looks good. If he is straight, he could be an X factor in the playoffs. We have to get benintendi locked in as well.
  20. One series at a time! We need to focus on Houston!
  21. He had a bad shoulder from day one. Will he be healthy next year? I think it affected his power this year and hopefully he gets that back for the playoffs and next year.
  22. Tremendous win today. This team literally runs hot or cold. So glad they came into the playoffs through the front door and not the back door!
  23. Does this feel like deja vu to anyone else. Did not this same kind of limp to the finish line happen last year?
  24. We have several more years of numerous dl trips for pedroia. Th guy makes bananas look durable. News flash for Sox management, when pedroia is hurt, which is often, just put him on the dl and quit trying to nurse him along. He's too fragile for that.
