  1. What do we think about the Sox signing jake McGhee as a lefty for the bullpen this offseason?
  2. So should we give Lin a shot?
  3. What do we think about adding Neil walker?
  4. Being a reactionary with absolutely no plan and zero forethought is not Henry's job. But it does perfectly describe desperate dave's operational strategy!
  5. The only injury that I can possibly think of that could cause pedroia to drag the leg around for most of the season and not require surgery is a torn mcl. Great now we get to watch pedroia hurt the team again next year by trying to play through a hurt leg. Hopefully the new manger has the guts to stamp "fragile" on pedroia's forehead and put him on the dl with all the other broke down sunsetters before he costs us games,
  6. I absolutely hope pedroia has enough sense to get the knee operated on and come back in June or July as healthy as the banana boy can be. I would love for chavis to step up and win the second base job out of spring training. I hope we do not spend one dime on resigning Nunez unless he gets his pcl operated on!
  7. The offseason priority list has to be: 1) sign ohtani. This guy is the real deal. 2) leave devers at third base. 3) sign/trade for a first baseman. 4) sign/trade for a lefty reliever. Previously I thought devers should be moved to first, but there is nothing out there that makes sense at third base for us, So in 2018 at first, we can resign Moreland and hope he is healthier next year or sign Santana and hope he does not imitate Pedroia and bruise extremely easily.
  8. I thought no we all know how I feel about desperate dave, he is a turd in the punch bowl. So let's talk about his options for our depleted farm system. Our major league club is good enough to be among the best in baseball, but lacks the depth and is handcuffed by bananas like pedroia (that are eternally injured) to win it all. Bottom line we are drafting 24 and later for the next couple of years. That means a lot of future major league relievers (houck for example) and maybe one steal per year (scriff for example this year) So that brings us to the international market. At least desperate dave was smart enough to trade for international signing dollars. If we use it to sign ohtani, that is a major score, if not, desperate dave has to hit on some major international signings. (Flores for example) The last way to improve the farm system is a major sell off in a couple of years by desperate dave's replacement. Because admit it or not, desperate dave is really Nero is disguise. The match has already been lit. And Red Sox nation is Rome!
  9. I believe lucky Larry pulled the strings behind most if not all of what Ben did. And for that John Henry sent Larry packing. I blame desperate dave for outing a product on the field that: A) relied on Pablo at third and had no viable alternatives. And had no powerful presence in the locker room. He left the kids to flounder. And C) had forgot to sign a power bat. It's hard coming in to a situation and having your world view tossed about with a new cba. But desperate dave should have anticipated some of this. He just needs to follow his brothers to extinction like all the other dinosaurs.
  10. I'd like to see mars get a shot to prove himself this coming spring. Though he has no power, he does have a nice swing and a good approach at the plate.
  11. How does the new manager put this fractured team back together again? Pedroia has not apologized as far as we know. Pedroia is not a team leader. Pedroia is not a high character guy in the locker room. He's just a Lunch pail kind of guy who plays hard. Really can't see him ever being rallying point for this team. Instead he is just a guy on the bus that someone else has to drive around.
  12. To the untrained eye it looks like pedroia fractured the locker room when after he got spiked by the oriole player, he was seen on tv saying it is them not me and pointing at Farrell, Very hard to come back from something like that.
  13. Desperate dave needs to make the signing of ohtani the most important thing in his life this offseason! This guy is the real deal and exactly what we need. A free agent that we might consider to replace Moreland is Santana.
  14. Don't forget dd gave up Shaw for all those great innings pitched by Thornburg! Oh wait! Scratch that! Correction! We gave up Shaw and got zippo from Thornburg and then had to suffer through Sandoval for half the year. Well at least dd has all those talented youngsters in the operations department to crunch numbers for him and help develop a strategy for talent acquisition, Oh wait! Scratch that! Correction. All the talent bolted last off season, first chance they got to flee from clueless dave and all we have now are a bunch of empty offices and plenty of space to store dd's giant super inflated ego! Last I checked, depleted farm systems, depleted operations departments and clueless gm's are not the preferred route to a World Series win!!!!
  15. Did we hurt the team by playing pedroia and bogey who were clearly the worst position players on our team this playoff series?
  16. This years team exceeded last year's team by one playoff win, but I am left feeling the team under performed. The number of injuries this team fought through was absolutely crippling. If I could wish for one thing we take from this season and apply to next season is this: When a hitter is injured, we put him on the dl and we have the depth to not be too negatively affected. We do it with pitchers, let's do it with hitters as well. Moreland, bogey, Hanley, Bradley, betts, Nunez, and of course the eternally injured pedroia all should have been on the dl this year and not tried to play through their injuries:
  17. This offseason, sign ohtani, move devers to first, sign/trade a 3rd baseman with pop, and sign a lefty reliever. Then pray these guys stay healthy and buy your tickets to the World Series early.
  18. When you miss your spots early in a playoff game, you kind of force the manager to send you to pull you.
  19. Bogey got a tater today.
  20. Any chance of trading for the Colorado 3rd baseman? He looks pretty good!
  21. No doubt in my mind. Devers should be our first baseman next season. As for who plays third next season. I think it is someone not on the current roster, preferably a power hitter who's played a lot of October baseball.
  22. It's not complicated. If you swing at pitches you can hit, good things will happen.
  23. Look, it was a very nice win today. We need the offense to keep hitting and not have a porcello meltdown. It would be nice if bogey, pedroia and benintendi would contribute!
  24. Houston is feasting on fastballs, we need a junk ball pitcher tomorrow.
  25. Bradley is what he is and we have to accept that. I do not think another hitting coach could change him, In my mind, he is a very good defender with an excellent arm and tremendous reaction time on balls hit his way. He is perfect in the nine hole of our lineup.
