Why trade Bradley? With our infield defense leakier than the titanic, we need all the defense we can get in the outfield!
-
And what if Boras is looking for a seven year deal!
-
Amen brother! There is not a deep market for JD. We have to guard against bidding against ourselves! Dave needs to continue to put together the three way trade for abreu while continuing to monitor the temperature on jd’s Market.
-
Hasn’t bogey already proven to struggle at third?
-
I do not see a huge market for JD. I think dave is smart to wait out Boras and not bid against himself. For hosmer, we know the Padres like him and so does kc, but Boras needs a heavywright in the ring and again dave is being smart to drag thus out! We shall see how this plays out.

How does Miami keep cranking out stud players and pitchers, yet we barely muster 1 starter per decade?
-
Are we, maybe, just over reacting a bit! So far nothing has happened, just news reports that may or may be substantiated. I think everyone needs to take a deep breath and tone the rhetoric down for a second. Everybody just needs to remember this simple fact: Much like the neutered dog, dave just does not get it!!!!!!!
-
Jeter is a joke and should be boiled alive for letting Stanton go so cheaply!
-
I appreciate everybody harping on the big bat theory, but pitching wins championships! Really hoping dave takes a peak at Vargas (if his Medicals check out) Still need a reliever - Zach dukes?

Pedroia undergoes microfracture surgery
Larry Cook replied to jacksonianmarch's topic in Boston Red Sox Talk
I like betts in the lead off role. Betts Benintendi Pedroia (when healthy) JD Hanley Hosmer Devers Bogey Vazquez/Leon Bradley -
I find it refreshing that dave is playing the Long game this offseason. But I get the feeling that dave does not have the analytics dept to get him the data he needs to figure out best fits for us. All our talented youngsters left when dave entered the building. Sadly our front office is reduced to old geezers like dave and larussa, who know more about changing their depends diapers than turned my on a computer.
-
I would do this deal if we have six viable starting pitchers signed.
-
If? I take it you are not an advocate of the personal catcher strategy?
-
Great stuff. I still contend that pedroia fractured the clubhouse with that incident and Farrell was never able to get the team past it.
-
Amen brother! Especially if dave is looking at a report from the medical staff that says price’s elbow is shot. Unfortunately we do not have access to those, so we can only speculate on price’s health. Nevertheless I still think dave can sign 1b Adams, sp Vargas and Lhrp McGee and we are good to go for next season. I would still like us to sign kintzler as well. Especially since kimbrel’s trade value has never been higher than right now!
-
I think you gave all our pitchers a giant collective nightmare.
-
I still think desperate Dave is carrying a torch for abreu.
-
Even if Guzman was a top 20 prospect, the price the Yankees paid to Miami seemed very light.
-
And who In their right mind would ever have fired a great GM like Theo?
-
At one point I considered Swihart and betts as untouchable.
-
15 wins after the league suspends him for 30 games?
-
Did anyone else hear that Wright got arrested for domestic abuse?
-
His bat speed is slowing down considerably. Is it because of injury or age?
-
I phone spell check gets me again! My bad!

The point is mute! Stanton would not waive the no trade clause. The emphasis is not what the marlins could have had, it is what would have enticed Stanton. Kraft gives Brady rent free space at patriots place. Maybe if Stanton has something like what Brady has, we could have gotten him free space outside Fenway. Point is we needed to work the Stanton side of the equation, Problem is I do not think New Miami management took the time to learn stanton’s Hot buttons, so they could make the best possible deal. They just wanted his contract off the books. This was a huge missed opportunity for those guys.
