It would be interesting to see if bannister can do anything with shields. I know shields arm is about to fall off, and his pitches lack anything resembling movement, but if he can keep the ball down in the strike zone, we might be able to get a serviceable year out of him.

If Stanton and Martinez fall through, I think we need to look at either Ethier (if he is healthy) or Granderson as our 4th outfielder. I am still not convinced Brentz can hit major league pitching. But I know those two guys can.

This is the direction I see desperate Dave going. He is going to back up the Brinks truck and throw in a sixth year.

Someone is going to over spend for Santana, normally i’d say that is desperate dave’s M.O., but I think desperate Dave is putting all his chips on Martinez. Ps: I still think desperate Dave should be going all in on ohtani instead.

I still think trading with Atlanta for Adams makes sense. He would not cost much of a prospect and he can mash when he is right.

I agree! And I would add, his poor defensive range causes our pitchers to go hard for the strike out as opposed to pitching for ground balls. Unfortunately the pitchers arms are burnt by the end of August!

Or wait until 2019 and go balls out for Harper or machado! Ps; at least if machado is on our team, he is less likely to beat up and/or injure banana boy pedroia!

I think whoever offers JD a six year deal could be the winner! And I see desperate dave going there faster than slick Willie Clinton on an ugly woman! As for first base: What would it take via trade to pry Adams out of Atlanta?

Is Larussa going to be the Cora whisperer? I can not figure out what he brings to the table???

The real question in my mind is: will devers go into a funk at the plate because of all the noise he hears every time he makes an error. ( projected pace = once every three games) Part two: how will all the errors devers makes affect how pitchers pitch? If pitchers lack confidence in a fielder, I gets in their heads and never ends well.

Shaw has a ton of innings on that arm in the last couple of years. He is due for a huge down year very soon, I’d like us to sign Santana as he is an on base machine. We still need a lefty reliever. I lik McGee.

The angels seem like a good landing spot for Moustakas. I think the very fact that no one from the Boston family organization is talking about JD, makes me think he is a person that desperate Dave is targeting,

At what point does bogey go from a potential elite player to a below average fielder and average hitter.

One of the general media sites said we should sign JD (6 years for 150) and trade Bradley. Why would we trade off Bradley? I guess they are assuming Hanley is healthy and contributing all year.

What is very weird is that when both were in college, Bradley was a much better player than springer, But then Bradley got hit by a pitch and has never been the same.
