  1. It’s a shame. Hopefully he learns from this and uses it to his advantage down the road.
  2. I think ockimey is also starting the year on the dl.
  3. Flexor muscle strain is usually indicative of a ucl injury. I am sure we have not heard the lady of this situation.
  4. Wow! Our pitching had been amazing! If we could just avoid the 8th inning, we would be throwing tons of shut outs. Poyner showed me a ton today. He generates more swings and misses on 88 mph fastballs than any other pitcher we have.
  5. In the 13th inning of last nights game after hanley’s Two run hit, I saw Bradley turn to JD and say “so that is what a hit looks like.” JD replied, “what’s a hit?”
  6. How many games of the 10 game homestand get snowed out?
  7. Hembree’s Arm could fall off by June if we are not careful.
  8. Groome starting the year on the dl. Flexor strain.
  9. Last I heard from matta, he was still at the fort. Don’t know why? Maybe someone else has the scoop. Schreff and Brennen to Greenville.
  10. Amen brother! Not to mention a reliever who might have been our 8th inning guy in Thornburg! Even Maddox would be preferable to Walden.
  11. The power of a potentially expiring contract. Nothing motivates quite like it. Larry was a genius for putting this in the contract.
  12. I think Groome, houck, and hernandez have been assigned to Salem. Salem will have an interesting starting rotation.
  13. Early season trend: our era in the 8th inning is the highest in baseball.
  14. His ball stays on one plane. Batters can time it out.
  15. Kelly has a way of making watching the Sox way more stressful than they need to be. But I’ll take a win any day of the week,
  16. Porcello really makes impressed tonight. He was moving the ball up and down in th strike zone and had late movement on his pitches. Very encouraging start!
  17. I know a lot of people wonder why we do not develop starting pitching. Is it because we lock our developmental pitchers into a regiment of fastball, curveball and change up? We do not teach sliders or cutters. Some say we discourage the use of these pitches. Meanwhile teams like the dodgers, braves and rays have a different approach. They let pitchers develop based on their strengths, regardless of what type pitches they throw.
  18. Schreff and groome have the stuff to become top of the rotation starters. Can they develop the control and secondary pitches necessary to achieve that lofty status?
  19. Tremendous game by price. Bogey, Nunez and devers are really swinging the bat well.
  20. How soon until people are calling for Farrell to return! That man can maximize bullpen usage!
  21. On the positive side. I love watching sale pitch. The man is incredible!
  22. I think this is so key for us this year. We must score runs early. Scoring early puts the pressure on the opponents and our guys seem more relaxed when they have the lead.
  23. I still think Larry was pulling the strings behind the curtain on the signing of Hanley and sandavol, As for the pitching, well Ben does have to account for that. The bottom line is we could have the most expensive wild card team ever this year.
  24. Any chance we trade swihart or Leon to Washington?
  25. So barring an unforeseen injury, who goes when pedroia returns?
