Besides us, what other teams are realistic players for JD? The giants? Do we really believe JD will have any success going the other way in San fran’s Park? I don’t. Hope dave can do the math on this and not burn us,

I do not have any regrets if we do not sign a big bat, I like our current lineup, but I do wish we could get a veteran to provide leadership in the clubhouse. We have so missed the leadership Ortiz provided, it would be a shame to miss the opportunity to get a leader to keep the zombies focused and producing!

With Moreland signed, we have above average defenders at catcher, first, second (when pedroia is healthy), center field and right field. Left field is average Short and third are below average. From a defensive view, seems like we can really help our pitchers by improving th defense at short.

If Brentz is our 4th outfielder, then we now have a full boat on the offensive side of the locker room. Now it is up to dave to get us more pitching!!!!

A weird offseason continues! Something seems to be going on behind the scenes, Dave is by nature very aggressive, he usually does his impersonation of the black mamba, striking quick, without thinking and leaving a trail of dead bodies behind. But this offseason, he is doing his best impersination of elephants having sex. There is a lot of dust and a lot of noise, but at the end of the day, there is not a lot really happening there. And while I am comfortable with the Moreland signing, I feel this is plan g. And yet I can not figure out why or how dave got this far off track.

Amen brother! There is not a deep market for JD. We have to guard against bidding against ourselves! Dave needs to continue to put together the three way trade for abreu while continuing to monitor the temperature on jd’s Market.

I do not see a huge market for JD. I think dave is smart to wait out Boras and not bid against himself. For hosmer, we know the Padres like him and so does kc, but Boras needs a heavywright in the ring and again dave is being smart to drag thus out! We shall see how this plays out.

How does Miami keep cranking out stud players and pitchers, yet we barely muster 1 starter per decade?

Are we, maybe, just over reacting a bit! So far nothing has happened, just news reports that may or may be substantiated. I think everyone needs to take a deep breath and tone the rhetoric down for a second. Everybody just needs to remember this simple fact: Much like the neutered dog, dave just does not get it!!!!!!!

I find it refreshing that dave is playing the Long game this offseason. But I get the feeling that dave does not have the analytics dept to get him the data he needs to figure out best fits for us. All our talented youngsters left when dave entered the building. Sadly our front office is reduced to old geezers like dave and larussa, who know more about changing their depends diapers than turned my on a computer.

Great stuff. I still contend that pedroia fractured the clubhouse with that incident and Farrell was never able to get the team past it.

Amen brother! Especially if dave is looking at a report from the medical staff that says price’s elbow is shot. Unfortunately we do not have access to those, so we can only speculate on price’s health. Nevertheless I still think dave can sign 1b Adams, sp Vargas and Lhrp McGee and we are good to go for next season. I would still like us to sign kintzler as well. Especially since kimbrel’s trade value has never been higher than right now!
