Sale was off the charts today. An absolute beast with the slider. Best game he has thrown in a year.
-
How can we let an average at best outlet her like Leake look like cy young?
-
Betts (the minor leaguer) with a tater tonight.
-
Benintendi has a monster game to help us overcome wright’s Weak start.
-
Citizen Kane will always be #1 in my book.
-
Wow! That was a crazy game. Bullpen did a fantastic job tonight!
-
Ockimey with another tater tonight. His 11th of the year.
-
When I watch him, I see a guy that can not stress the leg too much nor can he push off on it. I am willing to bet it is swollen and causing him discomfort at night. And I agree 100 percent, he needs to go to the dl and we should bring up Lin. Eight weeks or so off now and maybe he is healthy enough for the September race and hopefully playoffs.
-
Houck has been throwing the ball better the last two weeks. Maybe the results have not shown it entirely, but his delivery looks better and he is repeating it. I am sure there are more bumps along the way still to come, but if he keeps improving, we may have the next Kimbrel in the system now.

This is a well earned promotion. He has been lights out this year.
-
Decker and our first round pick’s scouting reports read like dalbec’s. ( minus the pitching aspect) Should be interesting to see if they follow a similar development path.
-
When Betts and JD slump and this lineup goes limp!
-
Ockimey with another tater tonight. Now up to 10.

That was ugly! Time to send Scotty to Pawtucket. -
I’ve seen Thornburg pitch to minor leaguers and it was not pretty. I can not imagine the results improving against major leaguers.
-
Even if the Yankees gave up Torres, Sheffield, Andujar and another prospect or two, they still win the trade and the World Series because de grom is the missing rotation piece for them.
-
If the yankees are successful in trading for de Grom, then I think it is game set and match for them for this year.
-
Chad hardy with a tater to open the gcl season!
-
If he gets right and adds some mph to his fastball, he could be a huge addition to the pen. But again he has to be right in order for that to work and he has not been right since the injury in spring training.
-
Speculation on the radio is that Hanley is rehabbing yet another injury and that is why he has not signed with anyone to date.
-
I watched him throw and was really disappointed. His pitches had no movement and got a lot of the white part of the plate. But on the bright side, it looks like yesterday, he just did not have it. For whatever reason. A couple of adjustments and better location and maybe he can contribute this year.

As we look forward, do we have a bullpen that we can count on to get us critical outs at critical moments of games, or is the 7 to 6 loss to Seattle the true face of our bullpen?
-
I would love to see Pomeranz get his mojo back as you know we are going to need him at some point between now and late October.
-
Devers should be considered a core member of the Sox team.
-
We need a late innings by reliable reliever. Thornburg is a shell of his former self. Smith is out after surgery. Hand from San Diego would work.
