  1. His ball stays on one plane. Batters can time it out.
  2. Kelly has a way of making watching the Sox way more stressful than they need to be. But I’ll take a win any day of the week,
  3. Porcello really makes impressed tonight. He was moving the ball up and down in th strike zone and had late movement on his pitches. Very encouraging start!
  4. I know a lot of people wonder why we do not develop starting pitching. Is it because we lock our developmental pitchers into a regiment of fastball, curveball and change up? We do not teach sliders or cutters. Some say we discourage the use of these pitches. Meanwhile teams like the dodgers, braves and rays have a different approach. They let pitchers develop based on their strengths, regardless of what type pitches they throw.
  5. Schreff and groome have the stuff to become top of the rotation starters. Can they develop the control and secondary pitches necessary to achieve that lofty status?
  6. Tremendous game by price. Bogey, Nunez and devers are really swinging the bat well.
  7. How soon until people are calling for Farrell to return! That man can maximize bullpen usage!
  8. On the positive side. I love watching sale pitch. The man is incredible!
  9. I think this is so key for us this year. We must score runs early. Scoring early puts the pressure on the opponents and our guys seem more relaxed when they have the lead.
  10. I still think Larry was pulling the strings behind the curtain on the signing of Hanley and sandavol, As for the pitching, well Ben does have to account for that. The bottom line is we could have the most expensive wild card team ever this year.
  11. Any chance we trade swihart or Leon to Washington?
  12. So barring an unforeseen injury, who goes when pedroia returns?
  13. Why is management so hung up on keeping swihart? Would not another bullpen arm to start the season be better for the team?
  14. Watching sale take one off the hip yesterday was a bit scary! We need him to b healthy for the start of the regular season.
  15. Is anybody else surprised at how well poyner has looked this spring? Or how bad Scott had looked this spring! I know they sent Scott down to the minors last week. So that means poyner gets a shot! Congrats to him!
  16. Pomeranz and Rodriguez will start he year on the dl. Wright to start the year on the suspended list. Sale Price Porcello Johnson Velasquez Very tough to strive with that rotation. Let’s hope the bats are hot for the first two months of the season.
  17. Nice game today. Command was excellent. Kept them off balance. Really moved the ball around the strike zone.
  18. I am going with a 92 and 70 record.
  19. As of mid March, our prospects for 2018 are riding on health. We seem to have the pieces in place for a successful season, but only if we have health. Specifically, we need our starters back as early as possible in the year and we need them to stay fairly healthy.
  20. Watched Walden pitch today. Not bad! Ball came out really well. Intriguing!
  21. Porcello needs more work. Spotty location today.
  22. If you are exceeding the maximum weight limit then something has to be discarded before more stuff added.
  23. Did anybody watch sale pitch? Wow, he was incredible. If only we could bottle up his stuff as of now and unleash it to him in September.
  24. Leon - the tater monster! I suspect he will have to pee in a cup in the near future.
  25. The time to get pitching was before we signed Martinez. Fireman dave put out the wrong fire unfortunately! I mean really! Who did not see this coming. We are one pop in price’s elbow away from a major fire! We would need to move payroll in order to add quality pitching, unless dave convinces someone to sign a one year “prove it” deal for a very low cost.
