  1. Schreff got slapped around tonight to the tune of 6 runs. Houck gave up 2 runs in 4 innings. Dalbec hit a tater half way to Nova Scotia!
  2. We are less than a dozen games into the season. The temperature of the games at Fenway has been barely north of freezing. Let’s pay closer attention to what is working than what is not at this early part of the season. Let’s revisit trading Bradley in June.
  3. Maybe we can cut a deal with Arizona to bring back marrero for cash? If bogey’s archilles is torn, we can put him on the 60 day dl.
  4. Rough day for Pomeranz. He might need more time before coming to Boston,
  5. Revenge is a dish best served cold!!!!! Makes up for the opening day fiasco! Now we need the big three to put a big hurt on New York.
  6. Walden sent down today to make room for Rodriguez.
  7. Greenville and Salem rained out today.
  8. It’s a shame. Hopefully he learns from this and uses it to his advantage down the road.
  9. I think ockimey is also starting the year on the dl.
  10. Flexor muscle strain is usually indicative of a ucl injury. I am sure we have not heard the lady of this situation.
  11. Wow! Our pitching had been amazing! If we could just avoid the 8th inning, we would be throwing tons of shut outs. Poyner showed me a ton today. He generates more swings and misses on 88 mph fastballs than any other pitcher we have.
  12. In the 13th inning of last nights game after hanley’s Two run hit, I saw Bradley turn to JD and say “so that is what a hit looks like.” JD replied, “what’s a hit?”
  13. How many games of the 10 game homestand get snowed out?
  14. Hembree’s Arm could fall off by June if we are not careful.
  15. Groome starting the year on the dl. Flexor strain.
  16. Last I heard from matta, he was still at the fort. Don’t know why? Maybe someone else has the scoop. Schreff and Brennen to Greenville.
  17. Amen brother! Not to mention a reliever who might have been our 8th inning guy in Thornburg! Even Maddox would be preferable to Walden.
  18. The power of a potentially expiring contract. Nothing motivates quite like it. Larry was a genius for putting this in the contract.
  19. I think Groome, houck, and hernandez have been assigned to Salem. Salem will have an interesting starting rotation.
  20. Early season trend: our era in the 8th inning is the highest in baseball.
  21. His ball stays on one plane. Batters can time it out.
  22. Kelly has a way of making watching the Sox way more stressful than they need to be. But I’ll take a win any day of the week,
  23. Porcello really makes impressed tonight. He was moving the ball up and down in th strike zone and had late movement on his pitches. Very encouraging start!
  24. I know a lot of people wonder why we do not develop starting pitching. Is it because we lock our developmental pitchers into a regiment of fastball, curveball and change up? We do not teach sliders or cutters. Some say we discourage the use of these pitches. Meanwhile teams like the dodgers, braves and rays have a different approach. They let pitchers develop based on their strengths, regardless of what type pitches they throw.
  25. Schreff and groome have the stuff to become top of the rotation starters. Can they develop the control and secondary pitches necessary to achieve that lofty status?
