  1. So why don’t the players get that?
  2. I’m going with happ, Britton and Herrera as three replacements.
  3. Congrats to mr. butler! May he enjoy a super successful career as a manager one day.
  4. Shortstops with great gloves are fairly easy to find. Just shake a tree and a dozen fall out. Shortstops with offensive tools however tend to be hoarded like gold. And harder to find than an intelligent Yankees fan. I think bogey brings a lot to the table offensively, and is probably below average defensively. But unless benintendi and/or Devers steps up offensively, we may need to overpay to keep bogey!
  5. Isn’t that why teams need to keep replenishing the talent via the minors? We need to sign the superstars, like mookie and let the secondary talent go, like Bradley and bogey, but ideally we would be bringing up talent to replace these type guys. The piece that is continuing to be thorn in our side is our inability to produce top of the rotation starting pitching.
  6. Amen brother! I agree 100 percent. One caveat I would add is that if we are resorting to a trade, we should not trade for sore armed relievers that do nothing for us. Ps: not sure there are anymore sore armed relievers to trade for, as desperate Dave has collected just about all of them,
  7. Are we asking too much offensively of Bradley. Are we going to have to adjust to him being a streaky guy (with a really low nadir and mediocre highs) however a guy who always plays great defense.
  8. Amen brother! This year was beyond sweet and incredibly satisfying.
  9. Pedrioa probably can not be counted on to play more than 80 games, so we will need to have a platoon at second base. I know some people think holt can be that guy, but let’s face it, Holt wears down considerably when he plays too much. Add in the fact that if we keep 3 catchers again this year, we won’t have room on the 25 man roster to keep anymore bench players unless we shorten the bullpen. Bottom line is desperate Dave needs to know by mid March what pedrioa’s situation is, one way or the other. I personally think a healthy pedrioa for 80 games is a win for us.
  10. I think I would rather have a pitcher that can get outs and win games than having a righty for the sake of having a righty.
  11. I have seen Feltman pitch live and in person while he was in Greenville. His stuff is electric. Only a couple of the relief pitchers on your list have stuff like his. Unless he is injured, it is hard to imagine any scenario where he is not on the bullet express to Boston by September.
  12. Thought the cardinals would be all over kimbrel. That just seems like a perfect match.
  13. If eovaldi gets signed for stupid money by some other team. Should we look at signing a guy like Happ? We can get him on a three year deal for decent money and he throws we’ll still.
  14. The answer to your question is not much. I think Felton is in Boston by September first and he is a definite upgrade, some of the relievers can give Boston some innings next season. Travis, Lin and a few others can provide some at bats in case of injury.
  15. And it was even worse when we had to watch Gagne pitch!!!!
  16. Is the decline due to his rising walk rate? Then the question becomes, is the rising walk rate an aberration? His fastball has not lost much if any gas, so what else makes you think his decline is coming???
  17. The New York reporters all think the Yankees want to keep Torres at second. Either way, if the Yankees lose leverage, they would be nuts to shell out huge dollars for Machado.
  18. If that happens then the Yankees would have to sign Machado because there is not much else offensively on the free agent market at short stop. Machado’s Agent should use that leverage to squeeze every last ounce of cash possible out of cashman.
  19. I see stuff in the media about how the Sox should be interested in signing Robertson, but shouldn’t we be interested in signing Britton instead? He is a lefty and he has closing experience.
  20. Hope the imminent signing is a starter.
  21. Seems a couple of news outlets are reporting the Yankees tried to get segura from Seattle as well as Paxton. Maybe the Yankees are sincere in saying they are not fans of Machado.
  22. Seems our current 40 man roster is only at 39. So we have room to add eovaldi, Time for desperate Dave to earn his check and sign us another starter.
  23. Are they saving a spot for eovaldi or Felton?
  24. If we resign eovaldi, who gets booted off the 40 man roster?
  25. Or they watched ockimey get destroyed in the afl.
