  1. Can benintendi get on base enough, to make this switch work? Too early to tell, but it would be nice to see benintendi have a break out year.
  2. Thornburg should have this offseason to work out instead of rehab. Theoretically, he should pitch much better in year two because of this. The question is, can he get close to the pitcher he was in Milwaukee this year?
  3. Don’t pitchers go to arlington to die? That place just seems to eats up mediocre pitching!
  4. Has there been any update in nunez’s Knee? Did he have surgery?
  5. Yes, I agree, Cora seems to really like guys who are good in the club house and can contribute on the field. If we can stomach the roller coaster ride Kelly will endure during the regular season, this could be an important resigning.
  6. Doesn’t desperate Dave prefer power relievers to soft tossers? I actually happen to agree with Dave on power relievers.
  7. That would be really interesting. Is there a lefty telling ever that we would take with pick 30 in the ete 5 draft? Or maybe a utility infielder?
  8. Really hard to think about us signing Ottavino after watching him pitch two years ago. He was serving up more meatballs than the Olive Garden. It was uglier than a strienbrenner family reunion! Our future closer and 8th inning guys are currently in our system. His names are Houck and Feltman. Throw in Hernandez and lakins and we got the makings of a killer pen!
  9. Looks like we tried to sneak him through waivers but got busted!
  10. I think the biggest problem with buchholz is durability, he just is not big and strong enough to pitch 200 innings. As he tires, his mechanics fail and the bottom falls out. As a reliever, pitching 70 to 80 innings a year, he could be killer, because his stuff can be above average.
  11. The more depth the better. I don’t think we are done being tortured by sale’s shoulder. I think 32 games started is extremely aggressive for sale for 2019.
  12. Desperate Dave said he wanted to bring back everyone and he is trying his best to do just that. I give him huge props!
  13. Cardinals got a super sweet deal bagging Goldschmidt. If we sign eovaldi that would be a huge win.
  14. Just my opinion but it seems like ..... Relievers in their prime that have 70 or more appearances per year usually have a three year window before the wheels fall off in year 4. In the case of relievers over 35, i think it is all about command and control.
  15. I do not believe it is an “either or” choice. I believe you can have prolonged success and championships. Prolonged winning and keeping championship quality teams year after year is about maximizing personnel. Hard decisions are needed, unpopular decisions are needed, but it’s always about being honest about your players. (And yes, a little luck on the health front always helps) Winning is addictive. We are all in need of instant gratification. Patience is in short supply. I understand why teams sell out for the chance to bag a trophy today, knowing nothing is guaranteed tomorrow!
  16. That is true, but while some players show up for work and cash their checks, others do that and drink the cool aid. Robertson guzzled the cool aid.
  17. Seems like a possible solution to avoid the large long term contracts is to keep the farm system producing players.
  18. I think the nationals are smart to invest in the rotation and let Harper walk. Desperate Dave seems to be locked in on wooing eovaldi back. Should get interesting.
  19. And how many of them are under six foot tall?
  20. Someone needs to take eovaldi up in a helicopter over Houston and show him the giant cancer causing cloud that hangs over Houston and causes Houston to have super high cancer rates! There is a reason md Anderson is in Houston. Time for eovaldi to come back home to Boston!
  21. Bradley’s value will never be greater than it is now! I still would not trade him, but desperate Dave could probably get a sweet deal for Bradley this offseason!
  22. Which is why sandavol smiles widely when he think about boston’s Baseball operations department!
  23. Much like s bad case of herpies, he’s back again!
  24. Robertson has too much yankee stink on him. Britton on the other hand would be a nice addition.
  25. Haven’t we learned our lesson about long contracts for tiny players from the contract we gave pedrioa?
