  1. George Lombard could be an interesting managerial candidate.
  2. I’ve seen a lot of good things in this down season. The big three being: 1.) hang’em Chaim seems to have figured out what type of pitcher works well in Fenway, 2.) we traded a bunch of spare parts for some minor leaguers that could develop into important pieces for us. 3.) our offense suffered a hit with the loss of Betts and company, but have the makings of a solid offense going forward.
  3. I recommend caution with houck! He has only worked 17 innings thus far. Also he only has two pitches and hitters will figure this out. Finally, no way should he throw more than 150 innings next year. If he can hold down a spot until sale gets back, that would be great. Ps: I believe sale will be back to being incredible by October 2021. Privetta has four pitches and impressive stuff, getting him straightened out would be a huge win for us. Rotation for 2021: Houck starts the season. Then sale comes back after the all star break as houck runs out of gas. Rodriguez Free agent signee Eovaldi Perez/privetta
  4. Houck is excelling because of his slider. Lots of movement. It is making hitters uncomfortable! His delivery is also making it tough for the hitters to pick up the ball. The key to houck is if he can get hitters out the second or third game they get to see him! Once the hitters learn to pick up the ball from his delivery, because he only has two pitches, it could get tough for him!
  5. Check that, Roenicke is now out. Time for Cora to come back home! Even if we win, worst case is the 5th pick!
  6. Hoping houck throws a nice game tonight. I like the changes they made with his delivery and hope his command and control continue tonight!
  7. I hope we resign him. As well as sign a decent free agent starter.
  8. Rodriguez would need to have a nice start to the 2021 season to have any trade deadline value. Texas could offer us some nice prospects for him!
  9. If desperate Dave winds up as the angels GM, does he trade trout to get payroll flexibility and prospects? San Diego is right down the road and they can offer a ton of great prospects! Atlanta can offer a ton of pitching prospects! Jeter can offer a bad case of the clap and a few mediocre prospects! The choices are endless for desperate Dave!
  10. Seems like we were reluctant to bring up the kids earlier this summer, but when they finally got here, they did not do that bad.
  11. Do we lead the league in outfield assists? Seems like we have one or two every series.
  12. I never watched pivetta pitch prior to today, so I did not know anything really about him. He appears to have decent stuff. Not sure we will know anything about him, as an answer for our 2021 rotation until next spring. I think I saw him get four different pitches over for strikes and his command and control was decent. His pitches had movement. That is a lot of raw material to work with. Sale Rodriguez Free agent signing Eovaldi Perez/pivetta/houck That rotation is big improvement over this year’s, if they are all healthy.
  13. Pivetta’s pitching was really good today, he used the same method to hide the ball that houck showed, I was impressed. I think he used four different pitches and had decent movement of the pitches.
  14. Why? What do we gain?
  15. They have now reached the bottom of the barrel. All they need to do is launch madden and hire valentine and desperate Dave!
  16. Dalbec making things happen!
  17. Dalbec has 7 taters in 61 at bats! Martinez has 6 taters in 185 at bats. Martinez costs millions. Dalbec costs peanuts!
  18. After seeing him pitch, I would definitely keep him in the bullpen.
  19. If we sign pillar this offseason, it makes the acquisition of Wallace all the more impressive!
  20. Love what I am seeing from houck. His pitching is unique, he hides the ball really well, looks like the Yankees had a hard time picking it up.
  21. In watching Duran play last summer, one thing I noticed is how little feel he has for fly balls hit to the outfield. Bradley is usually moving to the correct spot before the ball leaves the bat. Duran waits a while before moving and that just shows his inexperience in the outfield. Another thing I noticed is that Duran has a bit of a pop gun arm. So while the hit tool and the speed are advanced, he is not a finished product. I doubt he starts 2021 in Boston. But I like his potential if he continues to improve.
  22. Next man up!
  23. This is uglier than a Steinbrenner family reunion!
  24. Hernandez makes things interesting!
  25. Verdugo looks like a keeper! If we get anything out of the other two, that is a win so us! Don’t get me wrong, verdugo is no Betts, but he has exceeded all my expectations thus far. Hopefully he stays healthy and keeps swinging the bat well!
