  1. i really don't know that much bout about ANTHONY
  2. Morton was the exact type Bloom would have been in on. It is past time for those type moves. If I am the new GM I do not allow myself to be out-bid on Yamamoto and I scour the non-contending teams and the Marlins for a young promising SP that I can trade some of our " so called high end prospects for not named Raefala, Teel or Mayer along with a Verdugo or Duran. Not sure if Dalbec has any value but he could be a throw in. I would be staying away from almost all the 6 you list other than Yamamoto. Kershaw is not going to pitch anywhere other than LA and spends too much time on the DL EVERY year anyway. NO way do I sign Nola for 7-8 yrs or Snell for 6-7. Even though I like Gray at 34 I am not giving him 4-5 years. Ditto for Montgomery at 6-7 yrs. Did the Sox not learn anything from the Price and Sale contracts. Go YOUNG with QUALITY HARD THROWING arms that can fit in the window our farm system is building.
  3. way to win the big ones boys. Let's sweep CWS and screw our draft choice
  4. you mean someone like DD ?
  5. wonder what Ken and Phil from the old board are thinking these days. They both vehemently defended Bloom and told me there was no way the Sox were lowering their payroll to this degree.
  6. like i said-now that the Sox are out of it they will win most of their last MEANINGLESS games and screw their draft position
  7. the mushy middle that will get you nowhere fast
  8. it is kind of unique that Anthony hit for a higher avg at each of the 3 levels he moved through
  9. What a ******** loss that was. Chapman should have been rung up on the previous pitch. Springer got the same ******** call in his favour last week and got a GWH. Blue Jays have horseshoe luck.
  10. I am pretty sure the new GM will focus on pitching but I just hope it's YOUNG SP. Price and Sale have shown us the downside of signing 30ish SP to long term contracts. GO FULL OUT on Yamamoto and try and trade for one of the young Marlins SP.
  11. Sometimes it seems you do defend Bloom too much. Yes he made a few good moves but many more bad ones and the truth is 3 last place finishes in 4 years is just not acceptable. bTW--when did we pick up Robertson and Weiss??
  12. I'd give up Duran first or if needed Rafaela for one of the Marlins young pitchers.
  13. keep defending your guy. Sox are now 2 games behind the NYY in last place again in the AL East--3rd time in 4 years with your guy in charge
  14. toughest ball to catch but yeah let's get rid of the kid already
  15. I want young power arms who are still under control for a year at least preferably 2-3.
  16. I am talking of the other board
  17. I said back when we were still #3 or 4 in MLB payroll that Bloom was brought in to cut the payroll. We are now #15 the last I heard. I said we had not enough pitching either at the MLB level or on the farm and 4 years later we still don't. 90% of the posters on that board were solid Bloom supporters and told me I was wrong especially about the payroll. I suspect now that the payroll will rise with the new GM but I dont think he should sign any of the veteran FA SP on the market that have been rumoured. Go hard after Yamamoto and if the Marlins really do have some young pitching prospects go after 1 of their better ones.
  18. it IS getting personal alright. I got banned on another site for about 1/10th of what I am seeing in this thread. My "fault" on the other site was simply stating how the goal from John Henry was to lower the payroll as well as the point that I still share on here that the pitching is horrible and that we have no real pitching talent on the farm CLOSE to MLB ready. Most of the other posters on that board slammed me for my position but I wonder what they are thinking today because I have been proven to be right. I did not even think our payroll would sit where it sits today. One poster in particular was argumentative of everything i posted but I never called him out close to what has been done in this thread yet I was banned.
  19. yeah but it was well know before the season that Story would miss most of the season and he did nothing to replace him even though there were several low cost options available.
  20. nonetheless if that IS true that may well have been one of the reasons Bloom was fired as that would have lowered the payroll even more
  21. Who are these scrub pitchers we are using tonite.. who is Robertson and who is Weiss. Great pitching finds by the late Chaim Bloom
  22. No kudos are in order for John Henry from me/
  23. you always feel bad when a guy gets fired. I was never a Bloom fan but I think he got thrown under the bus here from an owner who refused to spend. Henry WAS a great owner but now I wish he'd sell the team. Time for new blood all around.
  24. You consider the need for 3 SP as less major needs?
