I am going to say this for the last time. I blame John Henry for MUCH of Bloom's shortcomings. IMO he tied his hands on any significant spending. On the other hand I think our farm system is somewhat over-rated by some. Yes we do have some pretty good position prospects but we don't have a SINGLE top P prospect. Pitching was our main shortcoming when Bloom arrived and it remains our main shortcoming. THAT is on Bloom.

I think it is more likely that he was not guilty but nonetheless I do not like his overall character but if he would consider a 1 year deal for 15-18 million I might consider it. He really hasn't pitched much the past year or 2. Does anyone know how he has done in Japan?

The main problem with Bauer as I see it is that he is a total jerk. I remember watching once when Tito came to pull him Bauer turned and fired the ball into the CF bleachers. I think I'd stay away for that reason alone.

that is NOT going to happen as reports are that many potential candidates have no interest in the job. This is on John Henry and it is going to be hard to un-do.

Mookie is on JOHN HENRY--not Bloom or DD. John Henry ALONE refused to buck up for Mookie and NO-ONE can convince me otherwise.

why are we wasting time on Crawford? He is at best SP DEPTH only. Possibly can have a BP spot. It is only his funky delivery that helps him and as a result he is better suited for a BP role.

i agree with pretty much everything in your post. DD's one major blunder was extending Sale but he was kind of under the gun on that.

You missed the point totally. What the poster is saying is that DD was on base with the prospects he kept. Would you rather have the 4 you listed or Bello, Casas, Duran, Raefla? Then of course if we keep your 4 we don't get Sale { bad extension aside} and anyone else DD acquired for those 4 you mention. DD was a FAR FAR better GM than Bloom will EVER be.
